SORRY

Sorry, for my vile behaviour prior to being suspended by the WM from being allowed to contribute to this very forum.

Having officialy cited my drinking to the WM in a private apology (as requested, it was posted) I have since sought help concerning my alcholism. I am now EIGHTEEN days without a drink, the benefits of which are now slowly coming to fruition.

It has been tough and there is still a long way to go. But I'm now clean and ready to come to terms with a life of normality.

This will be possibly my last posting for some time. When I return, pray God still sober but even smarter!, I hopefully will be able to enjoy debating and discussing with you all topics on England's greatest band, New Order.

If you're going to see the film tomorrow, have a great time. Remember, it's why all of this is here today.

Take good care of yourselves.

God Bless you all.

James J. Walsh

As you may know, Manchester will be hosting the Commonwealth games this July. What you may not know is that many of the famous events, which go to make up this spectacular, have been especially altered for Manchester. A copy of these changes has been leaked, and is reproduced below.

OPENING CEREMONY

The flame will be ignited by a petrol bomb thrown by a native of the Salford, in the traditional dress of balaclava, popper-pants, white socks and rockports. The flame will be contained in a large overturned police van situated on the roof of the stadium.

THE EVENTS

In previous Commonwealth games, Manchester's competitors have not been particularly successful. In order to redress the balance, some of the events have been altered lightly! to the advantage of local athletes.

100 METRES SPRINT

Competitors will have to hold a video recorder and microwave oven (one in each arm) and on the sound of the starting pistol, a police dog will be released from a cage 10 yards behind the athletes.

110 METRES HURDLES

As above but with added obstacles (i.e. car bonnets, hedges, garden fences, walls etc)

HAMMER

Competitors in this event may choose the type of hammer they wish to use (claw, sledge etc). The winner will be the one who can cause the most physical damage within three attempts.

FENCING

Entrants will be asked to dispose of as many stolen goods as possible in 5 minutes.

SHOOTING

A strong challenge is expected from the local athletes of Moss Side, Levenshulme and Wythenshaw in this event. The first target will be a moving police van. In the second round, competitors will aim at a post office clerk bank teller or securicor style wages deliveryman. The traditional .22 rifle has been replaced in this event by a choice of either a Browning automatic handgun or Sawn-off 12-bore shotgun

BOXING

Entry to the boxing will be restricted to husband and wife teams, and will take place on a Friday night. The husband will be given 15 pints of lager while the wife will be told not to make him any tea when he gets home. The bout will then commence.

CYCLING TIME TRIALS

Competitors will be asked to break into the University bike shed and take an expensive mountain bike owned by some poor guy on his first trip away from home. All against the clock.

CYCLING PURSUIT

As above, but the bike will be owned by a member of the Salford Reds rugby league team, who will witness the theft.

MODERN PENTATHLON

Amended to include mugging, breaking and entering, flashing, arson and joyriding in a stolen Subaru Impreza Turbo.

SWIMMING EVENTS

All waterways are currently being tested for toxicity levels, once one is found that is clean and safe enough to contain any amoebic life whatsoever(any expectations of standards higher than this have been merily laughed off by the city council), safety will be confirmed and events will take place. Please note that the Synchronised Swimming event for this year will comprise of dropping acid and watching all the funky ripples on the pool, the specific musical support to this event will be provided by "The Verve"

THE MARATHON

A safe route has yet to be decided.

MEN'S 50KM WALK

Unfortunately this will have to be cancelled as the police cannot guarantee the safety of anyone walking the streets of Manchester, especially anyone that appears to be mincing....

THE CLOSING CEREMONY

Entertainment will include formation rave dancing by members of the Salford Health in the Community anti-drug campaigners, synchronised rock throwing, and music by the Strangeways Community Choir. The flame will be extinguished by police riot water cannon following inevitable pitch invasion by confused Man United organised hooliganism club. The stadium itself will then be boarded up before the local athletes break into it and remove all the copper piping and the central heating boiler.

Late News:

To guarantee the entry of any Mancunian athletes at all, Drugs testing has been waived this year

Having been called a miserable cunt I posted that as an attempt to diffuse the situation not incite more bad feeling, are you unable to laugh at a bit of ribbing? It was originally posted in a thread in which 4 utd fans were enjoying a bit of banter on a Liverpool forum none of them spat the dummy. And as for us singing bad taste songs, do you remember this one from you own fans repertoire?

Who's that dying on carpet Who's that dying on the floor it's Bill Shankly on the mat cos he's had a heart attack and he's not a living legend anymore

Jesus Mary and Joseph....all we need now is Tony Wilson coming in with his anti-scouse jokes!

Is there really any need for all this back biting... I totally understand Ian (Hank Wiseass)being pissed off, ive mentioned this before but a very good friend of mine was there that day...nuff said... I think he's behaved appropriately, chosing not to be involved with James' comments and trying to diffuse the situation. Shug, for once im agreeing with ya... (fuck me, its a miracle!)

Mr Curtis, as for all this evil stuff towards James, ok, so he made a arse of things, yeah, he offended people, but he apologised and if you chose to accept it fine, if not, then keep your opinions to yourself. I don't agree with a word James said, and i think his excuse for posting it is shite.. but thats his story and to be honest i dont give a flying fuck, so fair enough. I personally don't want to hear all this shite everytime James Walsh types a message. Lets just let the shit thats gone, go....

I had to say something, being a teacher and all, sometimes i have twelve years olds with more maturity than you get here...

Liv

I know you are but what am i?
