Well, Fine Time was often known as "The Balearic One" cos it was written whilst the band were stoned off their faces in Ibiza - true! ![]()
Regret and True Faith pass me by somewhat, though I do know that in the States when True Faith was initially released in the fall of 1987, some jocks called it "Morning Sun" and this subsequently became the name of one of its remixes by Shep Pettibone.
Liar from Republic went under the working title "Tony Wilson Is A C***" as far as I'm aware. But that wasn't going to endear the band very well to London Records, was it?

I thought the full title was 'Shipwreck of a Broken Man'?
Which. Is. Sh*te.
I spent ages thinking True Faith was called Toothpaste, but that's only because I misheard what Barney said at Glastonbury.

That list of working titles that ID posted wasn't that accurate. The Touched by the Hand of God titles weren't right - the "One Time Girl" bit was the interpretation somebody made of the "Wank off a girl with a spotty back", which was never really anything other than Barney taking the piss out of the Nagoya crowd. If we're going to include joke live announcements, then As It Is.... should be included as "Fromage et Petit Pois", as it was announced at Rennes in 1985 :)
