Does anyone remember a TV Education program called "Information Technology" about factory records? Better still, anyone got a copy?

Yep - aired in '88 on Channel 4 I think and mainly about the Happy Mondays and the "Bummed" album.
I have been waiting for one of my traders to pull his finger out and send me it on DVD, if I get it I will let you know.
Aired in early 89. March, at a guess. Footage was from the Panic Station gig, wasn't it? And it wasn't Channel 4, I think it was one of the (then) mainstream channels - the Beeb or ITV, in their education section, weekday mornings.
I think it was broadcast the same night that the Mondays played at the Astoria...I've got vague recollections of getting home after that and recording it. I have a tape of it somewhere that I'll try and dig out...
It's supposed to be teaching 'the kids' how to be a professional in the music industry...!

Sounds about right. Wasn't at night though, it was a morning slot, no?
That Astoria gig was defo around March or April.
Me and my lot got on Snub TV for that one. The audience footage is superb with everyone bouncing around to "Do It Better" (that was the one thing which Step On etc spoiled at Mondays gigs - no big rucks anymore) but at the end of the show there's pre-gig footage with some lad stood against the barrier waving maracas at the camera. And there's half a dozen of us just stood idly behind him, having a natter.

I've got that on tape somehwere. Snub TV was just the best pop music show EVER. And I used to sit there watching it with me mum and dad eating our tea. "And here's The Fall....."
Amazing stuff. Why did they ever pull it?
Vaguely remember this as my memory is terrible aswell, must be a Sludden trait.

The programme ended with a cracking live rendition of Do It Better, that's about all i can mind.

I have the video in question, but you taped over the start of the programme when you were in a mad rush to get Dream Attack from Big World Cafe 
So we only have 10 minutes worth.

I bought that on Ebay a while ago, because it shows Martin Hannett in the studio (big Martin Hannett obsessive, me). Funniest things on it are the Mondays' manager pretending to be really professional and footage of Tony Wilson discussing finances with the accountant - Did Factory Records have an accountant,... really?!?

That Big world cafe, was that 3 songs at the end of the show - from Technique I think, remeber that as being pretty good.
I remember bunking off Computer Studies to watch this in the Sixth Form Common Room, prior to beating up Billy Bunter.

Run, Round & Round and Vanishing Point were all aired on the main show on the Sunday I think. Dream Attack was then played on the mid-week highlights show, as far as I am aware my Uncly John is the only person I know who caught this performance on video, we miss the first couple of lines as he was in a desperate hurry to get a video in the recorder
