Can anyone confirm that this performance was 26th January 1983?

Using my power of deduction ;) It cannae be the performance at the Hacienda later that year cos some of that footage is used on the Play At Home documentary and the band are in different gear.

While I am it it, we all know that Ceremony on "Factory Video" is from Manchester Student Union, can we also confirm that In A Lonely Place from the Imperial Cinema in early 1982?

I am putting together a full videography and aim to get all the known TV / Video performances nailed. There may be more questions to follow!

Danke Shien.

I think you're correct with those places and dates.

The Manchester college was the City Of Manchester College Of Higher Education (COManCHE as it seems to have been known) and was on Hathersage Road.

Cheers for that Johnny.

Right.....

I have a very rough video (from Spain I think) which features a couple of songs from Play At Home and a couple from Studio 54 - this also has subtitles throughout, and we get a wee glimpse of a Hannett interview....also a lot of German imagery is used as the video for Decades and also used throughout the 30 or so minutes between the live action. Anyone have any idea what this is?

BLT & Paradise were performed on French TV in 86. Anyone know what date / where it was recorded, TV Channel etc...

French TV 87 or early 88 and features 4 or 5 songs with interviews, can we confirm this is the French gig from 8th December that year? And does anyone have the dates it was aired or what channel?

Specific dates needed for :

Riverside - Mike Andrews interview, was this featured on the same programme as Temptation & Chosen Time? I think this is 83 masel - again deduction with the talk of Confusion.

APB Interview & Feature was aired in March 88.

Rapido which I know is November 88.

The Other Side Of Midnight featuring Hooky playing The Happy One. 89???

MTV : New Order A True Story 1989.

Compass. Prozac Documentary 1995.

Later Special Joy Division & New Order 1998

Under The Influence 2002

Interview was 1983, they also showed a clip of Temptation from the previous year's broadcast.

Pretty sure this is early 1989. Ferbruary, at a guess. Certainly in the gap betwixt G-Mex and SECC/NEC.

Early October 86, just after the Albert Hall gig but before the Hacienda one. Broadcast a couple of weeks later, but don't know the exact date or the channel, sorry. Never actually seen it, just had the audio.

I'm pretty sure that the live footage on the Rapido programme from 1988 was from that Paris show - check the outfits!!

Fookin excellent stuff, will definitely chack the gear from the Rapido and French TV clips JT, Oct has been added to the French TV app Tim.

And top marks to Johnny - I searched everywhere for Estoc De Pop info and found fuck all

The thing I mention above though is completely different from Estoc De Pop (which I also have), it has subtitles which I think are Spanish, and features songs from Studio 54 and Hacienda July 83 and loads of German Imagery added throughout the performances.

I once found a reference to these TV appearances online somewhere, never did follow it up and I've not seen them:

New Order Elektron Pop 28/05/1984 Interview & Thieves Like Us Belgium TV New Order Musik Convoy 16/04/1984 Thieves Like Us Germany New Order Seaside Festival 17/08/1984 Everything's Gone Green & Interview Belgium TV

Does anyone have these or seen them?

I too have that strange Spanish broadcast with Decades and it's war footage, the New Order live bits from Studio 54 are the same as Estoc De Pop aren't they? Hurt credited by it's working title (setlist title?). No idea when it was broadcast though.

Yep - Hurt is listed as Cramp and fook knows when that Spanish thing was aired, all I know is that it comes from TV3.....is your copy any good Johnny? If you send me a mail I will send you my excel document and you can have a look at what I have so far, the idea is to get it posted on all the New Order sites, cos a lot of people email me about missing gig dates and appearances etc... This way we can tie everything up. shugsludden@hotmail.com

I also have a Thieves Like Us that I can't account for (which is a shitey b&w copy) which I think Mike Garrity said was from Southampton. If not, it may well be the the appearance you list above from German TV.

Thanks for the excel file, looking through it now. My copy of the Spanish thing is pretty ropy, when I put it on dvd I lost the colour throughout Hurt. I got it from one of those videos you get at record fairs.

This will be from a TVS program called 'DJ', I have the same dodgy quality copy. Anyone have a better source?

I think I've got an audio recording of the Belgian TV Elektron Pop performance but I've never seen the visuals. My copy of the strange Spanish broadcast also had some clips from the Play At Home documentary and the Perfect Kiss video but the quality's pretty poor.

Nice one - I have added that first bit of info to my list, off the top of my head True Faith, Touched, Blue Monday and possibly Temptation were played on the second show. I think we can confirm they were from the gig on 8-12-87, but I can only guess it was aired late 87 early 88 and I have no idea what channel.

As for the Pop Electron TV Version of Thieves Like Us, I found an excellent copy of that on one of my videos - it also includes a cracking interview beforehand with a very fucked looking Barney and the rest of the band, with Barney taking the piss out of a weird looking Robert Smith :thumb:

Top man, them birds prancing about was propaganda film used during Hitler's reign in the 30's, most of that footage looked like it was from films of that time. I also have Temptation and The Pefect Kiss video on the same bit of tape as the stuff you mention above.

And cheers for the info on the grainy TLU appearance, it will be added to my ever growing list.

This old bootleg I've got from Camden Market, has the following listing on the back of it for a Spanish TV Special dated 1986, and it begins with German women in a gymnasium too:

Blue Monday A Few words from Martin Hannett Temptation Age of Consent Lonesome Tonight

And ends with TPK video in black and white.

It also has Ceremony and Cramp from Studio 54, dated 27/6/85.

And later on there is a Live in Belgium concert for satellite TV dated 1/1/1986.. (Dunno if this the French thing)

Good lad, this is the same as mine. The Belgian concert was originally aired on satellite by Rox Box - it's the Leuven Gig from December 85. Ceremony & Hurt were originally aired on Estoc De Pop 19.9.84
