Only kidding, I must say - it's good watching it when you've had a few beers!
The guy playing Ian was brilliant, as was the guy playing Rob - looks and accent absolutely spot on
The guy playing Shaun Ryder was ace as well (British fans will recognise him as Mike Baldwin's wife's brother) The bit where Martin Hannett gets Steve to play the drums on the roof is absolutely genius, as is the joke about Hannett's coffin being too big for his grave!
A bit pissed off - with the lack of New Order, although the bit where Hooky "does a couple of skinheads" is funny as fuck
Apparently it went on for 2 hours - the time absolutely flew by!
Hearing the music in the cinema was top class, the attendance was roughly 200 (about 75% full) good night had by all. Another thing that confused me, was several of the songs appearing on the soundtrack - never appeared on the film!

Sounds great chuck! may have to check it out meself soon, but I have a gig with the band Saturday nite (tomorrow) so that rules that out.
By the way, talking of songs that don't appear on the soundtrack. Have you heard about "Here To Stay" being left off the final master of the "24 HPP" soundtrack CD album due out next Monday?? A problem with having the finished cut delivered in time to meet the deadlines and that....what a fooking joke.

Excellent point mate! which reminded me of a couple of parts of the film, where Peter Saville brings the Factory poster (Fac 1) late, to which Wilson tells him to fuck off Same applies with some artwork which Saville also delivers late (top class entertainment )
BTW - Here To Stay is put to the credits at the end of the film
This, without question, flaws aside, is one of the most important documents about a period in time. Rank this alongside the finest films regarding any musical subject; Julian Temple's anarchic look at Lydon and co, Rob Reiners Spinal Tap. Yes New Order get shafted for screen time (Little's Hooky is embarassing, particularly playing the bass). Yes Coogan's monologues to the viewer grate at times (one too many Grandada reports also). Yes the movie at times feels uneven and clumsy. However, for Winterbottom to film an entire decade (+) of the rise and fall of one of the greatest ever record labels (yes, greatest, file alongside Motown and Sun Records!) and pull it off - is remarkable. Hats off to Sean Harris for literally resurrecting Ian Curtis for one last dance. Paddy Considine WAS Rob Gretton! Skeris' take on Hannett was sublime. Finally, can't stress enough how excellent Coogan was. He carried the film on his shoulders from start to finish (if he doesn't get a BAFTA for this then it will be a crime). 24HRPP is a souvineir of a time and place - for our and for future generations - a tantalising snapshot, which in this new bold, corrporate, spoon-fed century is fucking essential.

I really DO miss the REAL Rob Gretton.....sniff sniff...

Didn't know how he died but i knew he was no longer with us - my point was you'd have thought that they would have updated the book. I mean, Hooky is hardly likely to be chuffed at still being Mr Aherne is he?

It's a bloody boring film, sure it has it's funny moments but was dissapointed with the lack of NO & as someone above posted, half of the tracks from the soundtrack did not appear to be in the film but I think this is usual.
No doubt you will all be in tears now that I have said this?? ;)
Just seen it and agree with Ewok. Lack of NO iss shocking! Fancy the Monday's taking the whole thing over at the end. :( John Simm playing Barney - wasted opportunity I feel ;) Did anyone else thing Ralf Little was a bit of a poor choice to play Hooky?
