Sam Riley who plays Ian Curtis in the Control movie, sings with the real Joy Division for a JD song or two in real life.
Seeing John Simm who played Barney in 24hr party ppl. go on stage to sing along with NO on some recent concert DVD kind of got my brain churning on that idea.
My own thoughts on it: controversial- wouldn't want to touch it with a ten foot pole, would be kind of cool to see, damaging to NO's career?

Sam's the singer in a band called 10,000 things, so is well-used to being the frontman in a band.
Interesting conjecture about him singing JD songs with NO playing the music, can't see it happening, but you never know! Who'd have thought they'd have Brandon Flowers on stage, or do songs with Billy Corgan, Bobby Gillespie and Ana Matronic?

Have to agree. Mac did it best though. Outdid Sumner and Curtis on Ceremony. Shame that rumour never came true, as blind as he is Mac needs no autocue!
