Haven't been following the web site or the forums much lately, so please forgive me if this is old news. I thought that during the WFTSC recording sessions, they had basically finished most of the songs for the next album, and that it would be released in short order. So far nothing. Did they abandon the new album, or ???
WFTSC follow up album? What happened?

Hooky's played a song from the new album at his DJ gigs recently, so it's still in the works. I would guess either a holiday release or early next year if touring gets in the way of finishing it up. Just be patient.
What happens?
Seriously?
They decided to TOUR instead, and they decided to participate in the soundtrack of the movie Control.
Songs exists, but they didn't get back to studio as of yet. They still plan to release TURN as a single, but that was postponed, so who knows what will happen.

More info please???
Personally, there's no point in releasing Turn now, unless they want to share some nice new b-sides with us( hahahahaha,I know, what was I thinking!),time has moved on from WFTSC & even Singles for that matter so let it be.& it wouldn't make a great addition to the singles history really, would it?
As for the 'follow -up album',most of the stuff was scrapped wasn't it as they weren't happy with it,according to Hooky,on this very site if I'm not mistaken?

Here's my thought on the Turn singles tracklisting:
NUO17CD1 (UK) Turn (Radio edit) I Told You So (Stuart Price remix) Regret (Tocadisco dub) Waiting For The Sirens' Call (Filterheadz mix)
NUO17CD2 (UK) Turn True Faith (King Roc mix) Regret (Tocadisco mix) Waiting For The Sirens' Call (Asle dub)
iTunes (USA only) Turn (Radio edit) Regret (Tocadisco mix) Regret (Tocadisco dub) I Told You So (Stuart Price remix) True Faith (King Roc mix) Waiting For The Sirens' Call (Filterheadz mix) Waiting For The Sirens' Call (Asle dub)
NUO17 (Dutch release in awful cardsleeve!!) Turn (Radio edit) Turn
Indeed I'm from the rainy lowlands...

You are a bit mistaken, yes Mark! I understand that Brian Higgins was doing some remixes of stuff for single releases, and it is that which was scrapped, not the album stuff that they were doing with Tore Johannson. There are still 7 finished songs.

Yeah, just imagine if something substantial happens ... you know, like, I dunno, let's go craaazy - say, seven (yes, SEVEN!) English/Scotch gigs coming up, over a three week period.
Imagine what it would be like here if that were to happen. ![]()

Apologies Old Monkey,I bow to the Knowledge, knew the Brian Higgins stuff had been scrapped, didn't realise he was just working on the remixes tho'

Well one more and we could have the album. Come on lads-you must have something knocking about?
W/R/T Hooky DJing new song(s):
I would suspect DepthCharge will provide a full report after the Australian gigs. Perhaps DC could even get some press credentials and sit down with Peter for a 20-minute interview.
Am I the only one who would prefer a perfect LP of 7-8 masterpieces, instead of 10-11 half-baked ideas that never really come together?
I'm pretty sure they've written some new material, from what I hear.
Maybe they've postponed the album or something.
I'm just going to be a bit more patient here.
:)
well im going to the hooky gig sept 21 so i will fuckin tell you all, in inspirational rythmic language.
they better not make me throw away my organic apples in my bag that i take in, i once went to a gig and the security made me dispose of my precious sustinance, me organic apples. i need them for energy, vitamins and the all important minerals, when i dance that spastic and hard-out.... you need something healthy to keep a sunny disposition of body and mind, you want to make the (very precious) most of every moment at a musical gig. the cunts took my filtered water that time as well, i was too tight with my money to buy water so i went to the toilets and carefuly drank from the taps.
I would suspect that there was/has been some panic in Warner/New Order camp after the badly received mediocre WFTSC. Ok we are all dedicated fans on this site and love our NO and welcome all their efforts. Still no one can deny that both Get Ready and WFTSC didn´t do to well and therefore I think they threw away most of the songs that remained from the WFTSC. To release the rest of WFTSC would just not be good idea. Time is now for NO to do something inventinve. The pilot single Krafty, didn´t do to well. Jetstream went justifiably unnoticed. The single WFTSC which in the bands opinion is their best song ever didn´t do to much though maybe heard a few times on the radio. - That should be of concern that your absolutely best effort does not do to well. -We are talking about a band that did Blue Monday, True Faith, BLT. -All monumental songs.
So they simply have to do better.

I think Waiting For The Sirens Call (the song) ,Turn and Who's Joe (and even Krafty for me ,except for maybe the weak chorus) are up there with songs like True Faith .Its just to the general public New Order don't interest them anymore. Its just the old hardcore ,and a random sprinkling of newbies, that are still buying the songs.
In my opinion it's not the music that shouldn't be that good anymore - by the way, I think WFTSC is one of their best albums... - it's a lack of good promotion. We all know that there are lots of promo cd's around, but delivered initially at the 'wrong' persons, I suppose. I think they only played one time Krafty at the Dutch radio and that was it! So, it's not the band or the music - it's just a lack of promotion: no airplay, no concerts since 1984 or so, no tv-appearances, only a few singles in a few shops... it's more No Order instead of New Order... perhaps the sleeve of WFTSC was especially designed for Dutch promotion ![]()
