Not on last night's evidence !

If that's what drugs, or being a 24 hour party person does to you, I'm glad I don't touch 'em !!

Think heroin's Ryder's downfall..

Surprisely though, Bowie and Iggy Pop have both aged darn well on it ;)

I think all the Governments should use Shaun Ryder as a "star" in an anti-drugs caimpaign. If you look at him you will stay away from drugs for the rest of your life. Scary.

Compared to his appearance on telly last night, the photos above look like Mr Ryder after a serious bout of detox!! He also sound like he's got fucking throat cancer: how's he gonna sing at the Old Trafford gig????

sean looked virtually dead last night. it looked like he'd put on a lot of weight, his voice sounded like he'd just got back from having his tonsils out and his skinhead haircut didnt't really help him to look good either...instead it just made him look more ill. he wont't last much longer at this rate!

after looking at sean last night on tv, i'm glad im not a fucking 24 hour party person!

Confession... years ago, when i was young and rather hormonal, i used think, although ugly, Shaun Ryder was pretty cool and *ahem* do-able. I remember seeing the Lazyitis video as a teen and contemplating it...:o the shame of it all :o

Last night those words came to haunt me...

He looked sooooooo ill, i was rather comcerned he wouldnt make it till the end of the programme let alone his next birthday!

As for the line from Hallelujah

"Shaun William Ryder, is gonna lie down beside ya..."

Well, if he does, im gonna "Call the Cops!!!!!"

Bet he could tell some stories, though, eh? ;)

I doubt he'd remember any in that state.

Actually, on a serious note, he did look very ill, did anyone else think about why he might be shaking like that?

Oh aye, the guy could tell some stories: but would it be worth shagging him to hear 'em?? However, in fairness to Liv, he WAS seen as something of an - ahem - "alternative" sex symbol circa '89/'90. In my college, at least....

Perhaps he's finally gone straight, hence the shakes. And that's two decades worth of hangover/cold turkey finally catching up with the guy. Ouch.

S***! I was shocked, really shocked. There have been rumours for some time now in Manchester about the state of his health but I honestly did't expect him to be in such a bad way. And it really is F****** sad because whether you were into the Mondays or not he always brought a smile to your face. + He's due to become a father again soon. I hope it works out for him, I really do.

shawn's gonna be a father? i guess i'm a bit ignorant, but i didn't think he would be married...or maybe he isn't. anyways, at this point, i think shawn would be a very bad father with his drug dependency and all...

He's got one daughter who must be about 10 now rather ironically called Jael... dunno about expecting another one. Had a flash back to rememebr that...

And Paul Ryder hasn't spoken to his brother for the past five years!!! Makes you wonder exactly how dysfunctional the Ryder family are at this moment in time. I heard also that even his dad Derek didn't want owt to do with him anymore..... (that coming from the man who supplied most of the initial "stocks" for the band's recreational pursuits from day one!!!) Judging by last night's shocking vision, we can safely assume that whatever it was that Ryder was supposed to be doing with himself obviously hasn't been to everyone's benefit.

Jeezus Christ.

I remember Brian Connolly from The Sweet (70's glam rock titans) looked and moved exactly like this after having his body wracked by endless strokes and heart attacks from so much booze and drugs, then a couple of months after his last appearance on telly, his body simply packed in for good. That should have been a warning to ANY of these hedonists to watch their step. Sadly, Shaun Ryder doesn't seem to have taken heed of just how far one should go with out going too far. A truly pathetic sight indeed. Stupid c***. :(

Well, he WAS, a long time back now, to Oriole Leitch, and Jael was his daughter from their partnership. She filed for divorce some time back. Can't say I blamed her really, considering it was in 1991/2 whilst the Mondays were self-destructing in Barbados recording their "difficult" - and utterly shite - fourth album "....No Thanks...!!"

shaun will a father again for the third time in a matter days now. the medication taken to aid heroin withdrawal is largely reponsible for his current appearance. he was a hero, until the little incident with Rowetta on the ferry to Ireland. i just hope he is able to turn it around. i mean for f*** sake, he is due to be performing live in less than two months from now! it really is spooky when you see what he looks like now in comparison to those early images of The Mondays. sad, really sad. get well, Man.

if that's the case, then i guess we shouldn't be too hard on him about his appearence...still...he looks like crap and why do these people start this drug crap anyways? E sure, but heroin is a pathway to hell and it's damn stupid to do it.:nonono: but it's shawn ryder here, and i hear stupidity is his middle name...:\ohwell:

Shug, tell me this is a wind-up? The Mondays playing Ibiza EVERY WEEKEND thru the summer??!. Fook me, that's just like Showaddywaddy doing a Butlins season, but with more sunshine.

Although I wouldn't tell Paul Ryder that. Reckoned he played the part of the Hac drug dealer in 24hpp, very convincingly. Scarily well in fact.

I think the haircut made him look worse, but he did look a bit of a bloater !

Honestly mate that's what it said:nod: And Huberto - I know what you mean - usually I don't believe much from the tabloids, but this really does sound like it's a very big possibility!! Showaddy Waddy at Butlins - Mr G? - best holiday of me life:lol: The comeback gigs they done in 98 - where fookin great - I remember Bez walking out with a witches hat and walking stick at Manchester ENA (or was it Shaun?) fucking fantastic evening had by all, and there were more people at that gig, than there was for New Order's at the same venue - seems all the youngsters wanted to understand what all the Madchester hype was about. Ibiza this year if it happens will not have The Shugster in attendance, how could you possibly have the Mondays without SWR? It's the same as James without Tim Booth;)
