I've got a mate (Alex the Red) who's seen 'em 170 times but, sensibly, decided to give up about 4/5 years ago when they went reeaally sh*te.
i was still really sad about their having to cancel the US dates for this month, though...i'd just bought my ticket for April 16th and it was announced that they'd been denied their visas.
would've been awfully appropriate, them playing the Empty Bottle here... :D

Denied their Visas? I thought Mark E was gonna get slapped in jail the second he set foot in the US again? After his, erm, altercation with Ms Nagle last time they toured the States?
well, it is partially their own fault, but surprisingly not for that reason. at least, so Ed Blaney claims.
yeah, me and a couple of coworkers were planning on going to the show. one of them hadn't yet got his tickets, so he went to go order online...and the button to order online had disappeared from the venue's website. so he called the venue, and they told him what happened...only they weren't quite sure what the deal was with the visas, exactly. then i found the info above.
i do sorta hope they're able to reschedule...even with proclamations of their being shite now. perhaps i'm too optimistic for my own good?
Just WHAT IS IT about Mark E Smith and St Anne's Square in Manchester?? Only a week ago I saw him having an argument with YET ANOTHER unidentified woman near the Royal Exchange Theatre. This guy is either off his nut or has an uncanny knack of picking the right place (the SAME place hilariously enough) for his public spats...this guy has no shame or even a care in the world. (Previous adversaries included Julia Nagle and the girlfriend he had BEFORE her!!)
Smithy - the fooking state of the guy - one day his face is just going to cave in with all that angst. Dorian Gray in reverse anyone??
Great news about the Fall playing again - hope they do some Yorkshire dates too 
By the way Martian, you made me giggle about the Mark E episode.....that's just his character in't it?? Nothing about Smithy ever surprises me to say the least!!
I'm still looking for the bootlegs of the small gigs they did here and there about 15 months ago - had no luck latley - perhaps Zizou could offer some advice, seeing as you're such a huge Fall fan?

Yeah, gonna be in the Norf London area for about 8.30, or as soon as GNER get me back from ER. Got a couple of mates coming along aswell. Any ideas for a meet ZZ?

I'll get back from our latest defeat at Havant at about 7.30, quick change etc and up to Hit the North. Deffo need beerage first - know any decent boozers in that neck of the woods ?

If Brighton get the championship on Saturday, I'm planning on ditching the trip to Port Vale in favour of H&W. If so, I'll come and introduce myself.
