Oh, I dunno.. 
Electronics first album sounds too dated now due to the technology used in its production, but dont get me wrong its still full of great tracks.
Tracks like TT,Haze,Vivid, SN,OOML blow plenty of NewOrder stuff clean out of the water however
Still had they been released as NewOrder tracks rather than Electronic we'd be having an entirely different discussion right now...
Republic and Get Ready were let down on the whole by some piss poor or average tracks along the lines of Liar, Chemical, Rock The Shack, Slow Jam, Close Range whereas WFTSC and Electronic have a more consistent song-writing quality throughout them.
The post-Technique New Order albums could be used to support the "New Order = Singles band" argument because generally while they've churned out some of the best singles you're ever likely to hear, a large chunk of the albums were always let down by a few shit songs which is why they frequently end up with review scores of 3/5. The first Electronic album is one of the best things Barney's ever done, and he knows it. Frankly, there's a load of Electronic and Monaco tunes I'd rather listen to over NO stuff.
Along with Electronic I reckon Music For Pleasure gives the likes of Republic a good run for its money as Wdywfm? is obviously cut from the same quality cloth as Regret. MFP was the second 1990s record New Order never made and would've slotted seamlessly into their discography if they had.
I also rate Twisted Tenderness above Get Ready as I reckon GR nicked alot of that guitar-driven direction from TT. Even Crystal started out life as an Electronic song (in its very early stages) but obviously wouldn't have sounded half as good without Hooky's small army of basslines in there
I've never got TT... Much prefer RTP, although it's probably a few songs too long... Some cracking POP tunes though... and Forbidden City is still probably my favourite side-project song...

There's something about it not being a New Order record that makes it inferior, even if it isn't. Nonsensical but true! Then again, I don't really like any of the post Technique albums anymore. Perhaps they shouldn't have released any of their recent output, as albums. There's too much that should never seen the light of day. Even some of the not too bad stuff, should only have been released as remixes, like perhaps Someone Like You. As New Order themselves were too lazy to keep up to date with musical treatments. I can't imagine a casual music fan stomaching an entire album of their recent stuff, and erm I'm waffling now, I'll stop.
Overall i'd have to say yes,as an album...But,and it's a big but!Cherry picked from the remainder of the albums on the poll.. Regret,Crystal,WFTSC,Krafty and Turn really do it for me,and I think they are class.Love those tracks personally..The Electronic album is more consistent for listening right through for me.I would'nt play the other albums in the poll without skipping a lot,well most of the tracks.
hadn't listened to this in aaaages & would have said prefer TT but stuck it on on way to work this morning & it's all come flooding back

Electronic loses out because it's much less diverse although it's a rather classy full bloodied pop affair.
Completely missed this thread the other day. How does Electronic stand against NO post 89 albums. Think very well. some of B. Sumners best. Though like the other 'side project work, obviously doesn't have Peter Hook on bass or Ste. Morris with drums so it does not have the magic that is New Order.
Republic does have SPECIAL, REGRET, RUINED IN A DAY.. Then there is Crystal, Turn and WFTSC. agree w/ Craig here WFTSC is an excellent album. Blows most every band out of the water and has NO alchemy. Even if not anything close to their early live recorded sound. but now there's Re : Order..!
