Joy Division DVD out next month!

Sounds... erm... fascinating. Is it official?

It's part of a series of these "Under Review" DVDs that several bands have already had. Don't expect anything new in it - no extra live footage or suchlike. That will be in 2007 if things go to plan.

interviews and some live footage, still doesn't sound like the comprehensive DVD we are all after. I'd still get it though.

There is always something on the horizon to keep us interested...

I suspected it might be. if its anything like the Smiths one, it will be beyond awful.

..unofficial footage licensed cheaply from TV companies... interviews with people who haven't got a fucking cluse about the band.... cheap shoddy bullshit.

Since I've only ever wacthed my Here Are The Young Menvideo about twice, I'll give this a miss, too... Would be nice to get a 'proper' DVD out there though...

i bought a bootleg 2 disk DVD on ebay, for like 12$. i am sure if you look now it will still be being sold. to my knowledge it has every piece of footage known to exist on JD. my VHS copy of "here are the young men" is better quality. it is on my list of things to do to cut it digital.

i only have one question what other footage will there be?

i am pretty sure no new footage will have surfaced. i will buy if remastered i suppose.

I've seen this Under Review DVD and it's crap, don't buy it!

The footage is all very poor quality possibly taken off the very same bootleg DVDs you see on ebay, it can't have been licensed. Also, every clip is under 30 secs long (maybe you don't have to license stuff this short).

The DVD is really just dialogue from people who aren't all that close to the band with very little musical content.

Avoid! Get the real thing next year and stop putting money in the pockets of all the JD leeches.

It does actually amaze me that NO haven`t put out a JD dvd themselves.

anywhere that will take it I would think - don't bother with it though, it is shit!

Sounds crappy; looking forward to a proper retrospective though!
