Will New Order tour Yorkshire?

They haven't played here since 1987, it's ridiculous especially when you consider the fan base. The nearest they have been is Manchester and now trips to Newcastle and Blackpool look tough.

Will I get to see my favourite band in God's own again?

I was thinking along the lines of a proper tour not just the odd one off date that some might find hard to get to. So Halifax, Bradford , Leeds , Sheffield, York & Wakefield followed by a weekend residential at Batley Variety club.

Personally I fail to see what's wrong with Bangor Leisure centre, or the wee church hall at the end of my road. Yorkshire indeed, fooking light years away.

Unfortunately not many decent music venues in our town apart from Birdwell working mens club (Arctic Monkeys),The lucorum (the view/paddingtons/cuba etc)and not forgetting the citrus rooms.

So there are really quite a few decent venues then lad,wouldnae mind seeing the order in my home town !

Joy Division once played at the Good Mood Club in Halifax. This was reputedly only attended by one person who left before the end of the set.

Based on this, I can't see them wanting to return to Halifax in a hurry. It would be really good for them to play an outdoor gig in the Piece Hall.

Oh and I wonder if that audience member could be found.

Note the only band that plays a the Piece HAll is a Pink Floyd tribute band, Civic thanks!

Well not quite. I believe Rick Wakeman performed there once. As for the Civic/Victoria Theatre, I hav'ent been enticed into there for music since Stiff Little Fingers performed ca. 20 odd years ago. OK there's been Embrace (jurys out on them), Mozza & now Charlatans but I find it hard to remember anyone else of note. Most of the Mozza tickets went to scuzzy kids who wanted to trade-up on ebay for Arctic Monkeys tickets.

Bradford Caesars (19.3.84) has got to be one of the best gigs ever. First playing of Face Up. Temptation and Everything's Gone Green merge into one. Massive Blue Monday. (And my first of 24 NO gigs). Leeds Tiffany's in January 1985 was pretty good too, with Happy Mondays supporting. Very early airing of new Low Life material. New Order's Yorkshire gigs have been some of their best.
