None of the above. The rarest and most sought after New Order record is buried at the bottom of my garden with my beloved and sadly departed dog, Barney. The multi-coloured 'Power, Corruption & Lies' is that record, and I believe you'd get at least £200 for it these days.
For me it was the 12 inch Blue Monday, but I got it dirt cheap, so my life's ambition has been fulfilled......now what?
MY EX GIRLFRIEND DESTROYED MY ORDER VINYL COLLECTION WHICH INCLUDED THE QUITE RARE RUN 2..12" AND A WHITE LABEL COPY OF FINE TIME...AS YOU CAN PROBABLY GUESS WE DONT SEE A GREAT DEAL OF EACH OTHER NOW...JUST AS A MATTER OF PERVERSE INTERST HOW MUCH ARE WHITE LABEL VINYLS WORTH??
That totally sucks ... I don't know what I'd do if somebody did that to my collection ... So what did you destroy of hers ?

Very hard to say, but I remember clearly how proud I was when I got my hands on the Bizarre Love Triangle 12" for the first time, somewhere around 1990.
I knew a DJ who used to work in a club which was closed, and the owner of theclub told him to keep all the records in the DJ booth -- which contained all the disco/club classics you can think of -- and all of those who he already had, he gave them to me.
I still clearly remember the SMOKE scent the 12" had (and still has) because of all these years in a cigarette smoker environment. It was the one and only time where the scent of cigarette smoke put a smile on my face.

White label pressings only hold their value until the official release hits the shops and even then you'd get no more than £10 for one. That's because they're usually no different from the official release. The only exceptions are when they contain something that does'nt become available anywhere else, an example in New Order's case being the initial white label pressings of Confusion which have a mix which is slightly different to the official release. Your white label of Fine Time is worth around £3 - £4 these days, if that!

the whole thing with values gets me - a white label has to be worth more to the collector than the official relaese as there are less of them, but at the end of the day they are only worth what somebody else is willing to pay
Sticking on the subject of White Label promo's - is there anywhere you can find info on exactly how much they ARE worth? I only have a couple - The dancey tune - where Barney sings "Security" and an old Quando Quango record Love Tempo.
There used to be a site run by one of the regulars at Ceremony which was pretty useful for NewOrder valuations but I think it's offline now.. The best way to get a feel for market values is to check eBay or GEMM.
I have a pretty lengthy list of vinyl wants. For NewOrder, I've got a fair whack so it's more of the really obscure and pricey stuff like the prized NZ red 12" vinyl of the '83 Blue Monday. Or the damned metallic Brotherhood.
For non-NewOrder, I like chasing down crazy stuff that's fun to DJ and sample, like old electro and breaks.. In fact only last weekend I finally picked up a doozy I've been chasing for years- the original Breakdance film soundtrack.. Much sought after, believe it or not.
Other stuff I'd really really like includes early Krafwerk and Orbital vinyl, the original Underworld classics like Rez and Mmm Skyscraper, old skool hiphop, BTB Bug Powder Dust, old Morricone soundtracks, Leftfield remixes, a whole ream of disparate stuff..
If anyone wants to sell/trade, let me know.

I'd mud wrestle my Grandmother if it meant I could get hold of FACT 300, a cassette of mainly instrumental tracks that eventually became Republic. About 5 were made.

Hey D.A.S.M.A.!! , guess what, if you hurry to ASHTON-UNDER-LYNE and make a beeline for SOUNDSEARCH records tucked away in a side street behind the open air market square (behind Icelands), you will find said 7" radio promo (with identical labels to the 12") in a plain white sleeve for £5.00.
I was there last week and snapped up the following: Italian pressing (MINT CONDITION ) of "Procession" 7" in Blue pattern sleeve with inner white bag!! Only £3.00! Two Siouxsie & The Banshees 7"s too - "Arabian Knights" and "Last Beat Of My Heart". I passed on the Run 7" for some godforsaken inexplicable reason because fussy old me felt the white sleeve was not good enough for my tastes. If you're quick it might still be there.....
They've also got a GERMAN 12" of Blue Monday going for only £2.50. Same floppy disc sleeve with thin black inner bag housing the 12" inside. Spotted THREE 12"s or "Round and Round" (original Factory version NOT the Remix 12") each going for £2.50 as well.
This place is a bargain basement goldmine - check it out man!
I myself am still searching for probably the rarest New Order LP format after the Double "Substance" gatefold edition: The limited edition metallic-sleeved Factory issue of "Brotherhood" on Vinyl. Mint condition, need I add...

Sorry to fly in the face of another Glaswegians opinion, but there WERE coloured test pressings of "Movement" and a a whole host of other albums/singles - mainly originating from the Rough Trade Deutschland stable in the early to mid eighties. The Fact (sic) that the multi coloured pressing of "Movement" was probably not tried out until several years after its' initial release is neither here nor there; it most probably IS genuine...

I always thought the coloured pressings of Movement were one colour affairs not multi-coloured. I've seen blue, red, and green ones over the years. I'll bow to your superior knowledge on this one Steven, judging by your profile photo that would probably be wise, and will now probably bid on the item. Thanks for the info.
