that blowup penguin annoys me. if you have a copy of the BBC - Radio 1 CD, you'll notice that this performance is on the cover of that live album because of the blowup penguin.

How bad is that from a design point of view. Totally lazy and inaccurate as the CD is Glastonbury 1997.
Totally horrible product. Not even a particularly good performance. They even manage to get one of the song titles wrong on the tracklisting. ![]()

interesting! what was the deal with the penguin? or was it just a sign of the times (i.e. 80s excess juxtaposed with the nonsensical)?

Well the guy's plan was to pick his moment, and try and mess up Barney doing a guitar solo. He released it during 'Run' I believe and landed it on Barney's guitar as far as i remember with not too much effect.
It was odd at that place, cos NO came onstage, and it cut to I think Courtney Pine performing on another stage. We were told to keep quiet, and Barney and co were just standing in front of us doing nothing, til someone shouted out summink like 'You miserable bald bastard' and everyone including Barney started laughing.

The other acts were; Curtis Mayfield Diamanda Galas Edward II and the red hot Polkas Julia Fordham was there to be interviewed, harrassed by Alex and Ian.
Odd that Norder were on a temporary stage at the back of the venue, the floor sloped down away from the band while the polkas had the main stage.
Norder did two sets each of two songs, they opened and closed making sure we were there all night.
mmmMMMM I quite like round & round, I dont suppose they play it live now as the set looks pretty fixed from the recent gigs.
