Not wanting to regurguitate an old topic too much - but whats the general opinion on the Felix Da Housecat mix of HTS. I think it rules.

Not sure yet - only listened to it a couple of times. Think I prefer the extended vocal version or whatever it's called.

It's superb, excellent, magnificent, gorgeous, moving!!! I really like it! But your topic title is a little misleading.

Still, I reckon he's chalked up the fastest 30 thread viewings ever.
Nice marketing Briggsy.

Sorry to disappoint guys! I reckon Shugsy'll be scared to open it in case it knackers his hard drive ;)
Patrick - you speak the truth, the scumfrog thing is shit

But that's not the surprise; the surprise is how good the other one is!

I agree with both of ye's - The Pussy mix is good - The froggy one is very poor;)
...this thread is giving me terrible visions of a Lords of Acid remix of HTS...complete with Traci Lords putting in another guest appearance. ![]()
i still have yet to hear any of these remixes. should really go order those singles... :jump2:
I'm surprised more people haven't expressed their feelings on this.
The first listen to the Housecat mix and I said, "oh yes!"
It's because I already started a topic on that subject :)
I said it was the best New Order mix in ages, since 1995 when they released the Arthur Baker mix of 1963 and before that it would go to the extended mix of Round & Round :D

I hadn't heard it until two days ago, so I guess I missed that discussion, Nicolas...
It's the best thing I've heard in a long, long time!
Yep, as I've just said elsewhere it makes a change to hear a decent NO mix lately.
We have had to contend with some pretty dires mixes from the current crop of releases so its nice to hear one that hits the spot.
Probably the best offering since the Republic mixes. Though Republic is probably the worst NO offering, the singles from it feature some of the best remixes in Regret, RIAD (NOT the reggie versions) and World.
I liked the Lee Coombs Crystal mix a lot. I think the James Holden Mix of SLY was also an excellent tune, though it isnt at all representative of the original

Spooky also.

I fully agree with this statement, Seb! I think this is the best altered NO material I've heard since the early nineties - rather normal, since this electro version DOES SOUND like mixes of these times, don't you think?

I agree about that part being a bit boring, I also think the Chemical Brothers production is far superior. I think Felix has some retro eighties thing going on that doesn't fit this track as well as his own stuff, it's a bit too dark, prefer the original and the extended instrumental.
Anyone know how to get winamp to just play a fricken c.d. without giving me stupid boxes all the time?
Just received my 2x12" HTS promo!
Agreed that the Extended Instrumental is a winner and, somewhat surprisingly, as is the Housecat mix. Normally I'd steer clear of mixes containing the word 'house', but this one's worthy. I'm also a big fan of the Lee Coombs Crystal- we'll see which remix takes the cake.

They're both very good, but the Housecat mix is the first thing in a long time that actually makes me want to dance.

Both together. Alcohol alone is not enough.
AAAHHH!!! This is the tune with "Set you free" in it. When I asked people on the board about it ages ago, nobody could tell me which song it was. I taped it a few months ago off Radio1, and it's great. (Still have to buy the single though... even though i've got that as well.)
