On a Sunday on TVNZ a couple of weeks ago the weather was read to the backing sound of a bontempi/new age version of BLUE MONDAY... Very odd... I imagine I'm the only one around these parts to be posting here, but has anyone else heard this strange specimen?

haven't heard that one. the strangest i've heard lately is by a mob calling themselves Nouvelle Vague, as on the Ministry of Sound Chillout Sessions 9. Kind of like Frente doing BLT but worse.

I think Nouvelle Vague are great, first heard them dining in a indian restaurant in Bristol, UK.

Their first album simply titled 'Nouvelle Vague' has Joy Divisions 'Love will tear us apart' and the following:

and the followup album which has New Order's "Blue Monday"

and of course the music :

the only way i'd enjoy nouvelle vague's music is if i were on fucking drugs. not my cup of earl grey tea i suppose. reminded me of the cranes except more organized and less crappy.

thank you for not cursing at me for my dislike of someone's music. even though comments should sometimes be kept to themselves, i have a hard time with that when it comes to music.

Thanks for the info... I thought I might having been having auditory hallucinations at first!
