If I do recall, Mr. Hook says his issue is that the director is telling the band what to do, and it bothers him immensely. Isn't it the director's movie and his vision? Isn't the band hired simply to do what the director tells them to? Do you think Mr. Hook is overreacting a bit?

Didn't Anton move to England because of Joy Division? It's kind of pompous of him dictate to NO, if that is what he is indeed doing.
I think the JD legacy needs to be well-guarded. It was the music that brought NO into vanguard, and obviously they should be skeptical of outside interpretations and qualifications.
Hooky has definitely got a point here. At the end of the day Corbijn can give NO some input on the 'vision' he's got in mind for Control but if Corbijn is being blinded by his 'love of JD' and telling experienced musicians how they should be making music which in turn f***'s them off then he's out of order and Hooky is right with his 'we don't tell him how to make films' line IMO. I hope this isn't causing the 'p***ed-off' talk within NO as if so they'd be better off walking away from this project as Ian Curtis/JD has been well documented in books and represented in film - albeit superfically in 24 Hour Party People. I always thought this could get tricky once the band got involved.... It is the director's baby at the end of the day - he's interested in his film being how he wants it to be, and not necessarily the legacy of Joy Division/New Order. In terms of having a creative input, maybe the band should have stayed away from this one.... I'll still be interested to see how the film looks though....
It's hard to tell what is really going on, unless you are on the inside... what type of music New Order expects to make and what the director wants... instrumental mood music (some or all of the movies soundtrack?)... or individual new songs? maybe the music New Order is turning out is crap? The Peter Saville soundtrack is crap and isn't really a full band effort... who knows what is going on
If Corbin wants to have the band involved, the band certainly deserves some respect from him.
I just hope that the idea of New Order writing songs for outside vocalists to sing with the band is avoided... I find the idea repulsive
Just bring in Robert Smith to do the music. He's been wanting to do film music for some time now.
I understand Peter Hook's attitude towards what's happening and he has every right to feel that way. He always seems to be more passionate about what happens to NO than any of the other members. Anton Corbin seems to be something of a control(no pun intended) freak! He seems to have that "artistic" type of mentality like Martin Hannet. They have a vision and a strong vision of what they want. Looking forward to the movie, not just because of the subject but because Corbin is directing it. I can't wait to see what comes out visually speaking.
