I think it'll be the last one,Warners haven't put anything out since what,Heart & Soul? We've had a couple of New Order best of's since then. I reckon we'll get a JD one about this time next year.

Yep - that's the 1-off single![]()
I've gone for gigs! ever hopeful, although if we do get anything I think it would most likely be a one-off gig.
...probably wishfull thinking!
My own predictions:
- London Records 'Control' soundtrack, NO contribute instrumentals.
- They re-record These Days as a single to promote Control.
- Joy Division remasters definitely.
- New Order remasters maybe.
Bugger all else, doubt there will be any gigs at all... they'll take a year off on that front.
They might do a one-off gig or a festival appearance at most.
If I get some more remixes, I'll be happy. The last round (everything since WFTSC came out) has been ACE!!!
If they just remaster some old stuff, that's fine, I'm not holding my breath for a new NO album. The last one was great and no one (besides us) really gave two squirts of piss.
Control soundtrack incl. unused WFTSC material.
Hooky deejaying 24/7.
No gigs whatsoever. :(
instead of buying re-mastered albums, install a compressor plugin in winamp and let THAT beat the dynamics to a bleeding pulp instead...tis a lot cheaper.
Sorry, but remastering is snake-oil unless the original material was mastered by an imbecile (witness temptation, now THERE's a track that could usea a remaster). UP and Closer are triumphs of engineering and production. For some wanker to suggest that they are shit, that Hannet was a fool and that some rack full of magic boxes has more talent is just stupid.
Now, find the original MULTITRACK master, and we're in business, UP and closer mixed again, from the ground up with equipment that doesn't breath and whine all over the signal woul be far more interesting to hear.
I mean really, what do some of you lot think (and record company mooks the world over) re-mastering actually achieves?
I'd hope for a joy division compilation. Remastering is okay if its done well and the originals are not all screwed over and chopped to hell. Its only useful if the music is not deceipherable to the listener...then again i don't know...
I love what Martin Hannett did with Closer/UP....
and Still....
He's definitely apart of the sound to JD.

As far as NO is concerned : nothing.
To be honest I would take that. But wouldn't 3/4 releases in one year call for at least 1 or 2 gigs to promote them?
In my opinion you really can't milk this stuff anymore.
How many more 'Best Of/ Box Sets/ Singles/ Compilations' can a group get away with?
How things have changed over the years with New Order. I suppose that's major labels for ya.
But anyway....2007...probably nowt I think and I really hope no more re-formatted back catalogue. :)
AND............
Why all this re-mastering??
What's wrong with the way it was done? Being a new poster on this board I will stick my neck out and say it aint really an issue to me with all this re-issue, new format and new technology B****x.
It just means everyones on a mission again to get what you already own but in a new format.
It's about the tunes, the music, and the love of those tunes ![]()
Maybe I am not analysing the ins and outs quite like others, feel free to educate me but original is best.

Er... there are already 2 compilations and the boxset.. what the hell do you want more?
It's all gonna focus around the release of Control next year....earliest truly new stuff again prob nowt till mid-late 2008 I reckon...as said NO as JD may do a one-off single...These Days/Transmission probably.
Control Soundtrack JD DVD Remasters Albuns with bonus tracks - Complete catalogue - JD & NO .

er... I meant for the Control film. er-thanks.maybe a JD dvd....
i voted JD compilation.
but what i think we'll get and what i want are 2 different things, I'd love some new singles and a new album followed by more gigs, but i don't think it'll happen, i think the boys will have a couple of years off, maybe they won't get back at all, maybe in a couple of years trends will have gone the way of the early 80's and all synth orientated, and they'll come back with some electronic stuff (the style not the band) and drop the guitar stuff (I like both, but feel they need to equal the balance a tad)
maybe barney will realise he never wanted to be in an indi band join the sugar babes, maybe hooky will join metalica steve will have his head replaced with a apple x-serve and phil will join a band with people his own age!
I'd love them to carry on but I'm getting used to the fact that they are getting older, don't always get on, and deserve a rest as well as our respect.
But I dont realy want another bloody compilation.
My wish list is
JD Remasters & DVD
Hooky keeping up the DJ gigs!
Meet up's with the NOOLers/'Vikings' - Cheers!![]()
Hook DJ tour and Control soundtrack....that's pretty much all I see realisticly. That's all they are going to do.
