World fake live - NOT official, right?

I've found this page with a video for World (just wanted to post a New Order clip on Myspace), the audio is the same of the single, the video images are taken from live performances of World mixed with some other song where Hooky really plays the bass, with some Winamp visualization effect added. I'd say it looks like the nice work of a fan, even after seeing the QWest copyright at the end of the clip, surely the fan pasted it. But there's a 1% of me which says "please tell me this is not really an official video looking totally amateurish". Again, if a fan made it, it's excellent, and pleasant to watch.

BTW do you notice any difference between the original World and the Stephen Hague version?

That video was available on neworderweb.com when Warner bothered to pay for domains.

Man, this is the video I had a question about several months ago.

My father has the Japanese LaserDisc copy of NewOrderStory and I SWEAR bits of this video are in that LaserDisc.

I thought my suspicion would be confirmed when they re-released NewOrderStory on DVD but alas, no alternate 'World' clip.

Am I crazy? I'm watching the clip right now and I have definitely seen parts before, but not on the internet.

Does anybody know?

Educated guess here - first concert that year (1993!) was here in Dublin - the peace together concert in the Point Depot. - bits of it were broadcast on RTE or MTV (both?) You don't get many decent crowd shots in that video - but I think that's the Point depot there alright. In which case - I'm up on the balcony - near one of the cameras :crazy:

Footage is defo not from the Point Conrad, remember the photos we took and Barney had a red checked shirt on that night.

I think it was shot in the US... either Dallas or Chicago.

I believe Warner shot the video because the song was #1 of the dance chart, just like they did another video for Crystal.

It was Chicago, because they did not film the whole show and just before they played World all the cameras jumped on stage and as soon as the song ended everybody left.

Fair enough John - I don't remember what they were wearing. Wonder does anyone have any of the footage from that Point gig?
