misheard lyrics

It was the Land of Meat that got me !!

It took me a while to believe he was actually saying "you realise you cant shaft without someone else!!" when i first heard it!!

they used to do this on radio one, I remember the sue lawley one, that was a classic, they also had one vision by queen & instead of "look what they did to my dreams" it came out as "look what they did to mike read"

& when you listen to it - it does

I like that one by Daryl Hall and John Oates (a song covered later by Paul Young) that goes:

"Every time you go away.... You take a piece of meat with you...."

that awful song? urgh. i never listen to the lyrics, just the cheesy keyboards.

agreed, Shug...i too prefer the LL version. though i don't mind the Substance version per se.

it's kinda sad, too...it's one of the first things i figured out by accident on my keyboard. not that it's hard...definitely not. but i was amused that i did so completely subconsciously...

("Twisted Tenderness" is also fairly easy. some friends threatened to throttle me if i didn't do a recording of it, which i thought was kinda silly...but Jae Young can back me up on this one. though she didn't witness one girl actually semi-throttling me at a pancake house during that animation convention...she just heard about it later.

'course, said girl was also kinda mad that i'd gotten her hooked on Electronic in the first place... )

back on the alleged topic, i can't really think of many Order lyrics that i've had problems with! perhaps this should worry me, that i can decipher most of them accurately...?

my sister and i used to make fun of her mom, though...she has (and had) an unreasoning obsession with Eddie Vedder. and his lyrics are great to make up your own to.

so we had such classics as "Stomp the Wombat" (no relation to BoppaWombat, of course... ;) ) for "Don't go on me" from the song "Go"...

oh, and "flap, flap, flapping like a pelican" instead of "glorified version of a pellet gun..." from "W.M.A."

mind, was never a fan. but when you're exposed to it every day, you must find ways to amuse yourself. ;)

I had to just listen to it once again to check this double syllable thing :D

But if its in the booklet then i assume thats what he intends to say, perhaps he just added a bit of artistic license when he did the take (it wouldnt be the first time eh!! )

by the way what the hell are "tasty krullers" sounds most bizzare!!! :D

they're a baked thing, often served as a breakfast item...much like a donut, actually. allegedly German in origin, though i do suspect that as with so much else, any versions i've had have been Americanised beyond belief.

here's a recipe, to give you an idea. they are quite tasty...ones i've had, anyway! ;)

As much as I've read the lyrics to Ceremony, just hearing the song it sounds so different. I always thing the sixth or seventh line is "All she asks is for him to hold me", which don't sound right...
