Me - "no, it's Cries and Whispers. We did Procession earlier".

I can't really blame him in a way... there's so much for one to remember in the course of a life. Cries and Whispers surely is but a blip on the great tabsheet of his memory. It's a bit like when Bernard said he'd not got one New Order or Joy Division record in his possession (doubtful, still 
), maybe it's just hard to remember work you've done and gone and don't have a good copy of.
Of course, all the partying never helps.

I wonder if he sits at home and logs onto this site under an alias. Maybe MLANH or Gerry Whatsitface. That would probably appeal to his sense of humour (im guessing). On second thoughts, Im sure he's too serious for such juvenile malarky.
Back to my first point. I think alot of artists dont go for listening (or even processing) their own albums. Didnt someone (Air?) say listening to ones album is a bit like masturbating oneself. Meaning, theres more enjoyment to be had listening to other artists. I guess they spend so much time and effort on each album that they must be sick of it by the time it gets released. But then I would have thought, a few years down the line they would probably enjoy it again.
