OK, everyone loves Temptation/True Faith/Regret etc, plus old live faves like Age of Consent. But what about people's favourite b-sides/album tracks/singles that most fans don't like (ie SOTN/Shellshock/even, heaven forbid, Jetstream)? How about this for starters:
Ive always really liked Loveless. I think it shows a different side to NO. Its such a simple song, yet has a great hook. I love the acoustic guitar and I think the fact that theres minimal instrumentation highlights just how great Barneys voice can sound at times (rather than get drowned out by overpowering bassriffs, and special effects, etc).
Just my opinion. Dont anyone get narked that im dissing Hookys bass playing because Im not.
I think Sabotage - the 60 MPH B-side is fantastic - shoulda been on the album. Some very cool beats on that one, and love Hookey's growling bass.

Melly Mel, I agree with "Dont Do It." It's one of my favorite NO tracks. It's just so out there yet so well put together. Love the samples on it.:D
I guess tracks like Dream Attack, Mr Disco and Primitive Notion get noteriety a lot for being favourites but Broken Promise doesn't seem to get a lot of mention and I love it.
Tracks forgotten by the band like Chosen Time, Cries and Whispers, and Procession. Granted most people on this board know those songs but it's been ages since any of those were played live by the band.
Primitive Notion. Should've been a third single off 'Get Ready'. Classic New Order, even John Peel played it a couple of times off the album.

I wouldn't say Touched is lost. It was a successful UK single and has made most of the compilations. And while Procession has made a few, it's been overshadowed by the more dance-oriented singles from that era like EGG and Temptation. How about Too Late? It could've made PCL, or at least that 1981-82 EP.

WFTSC due to it's strange vynil only release is,I feel a missed opportunity to score a good single hit. Great bassline,class song,deserved better.

Surely the only lost tracks are the ones that didn't get included on singles/albums? That would give us Brutal, Too Late and Homage, plus Skullcrusher if you don't count the Salvation soundtrack as an NO release. Salvation Theme and Sputnik were just incidental film music rather than songs per se.
I certainly haven't lost any of the others!
The Happy One is another contender.
Or 'The Plinky Plonky Not Much Of A Point To It One' as I call it.

Has to be "Too Late" and I'm glad some previous posts have mentioned it. I remember being blown away with this lost gem when I heard it first on that Peel Session 12" in about 1988(?). Couldn't believe they didn't do anything more with it after the session version.
I just thought of Lets Go (demo). It kinda sounds like the music from the later version of Lets Go but the vocal melody sounds similar to Sooner Than You Think (IMO). And the keyboard solo kind reminds me of the one that ended up on 60MPH.

the "Get Ready" b's are pretty fantastic as well.
Sub-Culture...the Record Mirror version. Homage...western works sound demo. Prime-586...a 26 min long rarity. Love Dances...low life out-takes. tracks on the hacienda free flexi disc from 82. erm...loads more that i can't remember.

I couldn´t call any single or any track on their Technique album for lost really. Singles have a front position because the band themselves have chosen those tracks and Technique is commonly regarded as their prime LP amongst many fans.
That would leave out b-sides, album tracks and other tracks.
I would like to mention few hidden gems or songs in the tired "that should had been singles"[/i- category.

Here to stay extended insrumental. I think I prefer this to the vocal version at the moment. Thanks to Retro I picked up on this track.
Did anyone ever chase after a track called LOVE DANCE that was floating around in the late 80's/early 90's (when I got a copy) I had just got in to New Order and it was quite a good track - but turned out not to be New Order but some band called (I think) the bridge.[/orange][/orange]
