Nah they were both Hooky, I'm pretty certain

I'm still confused about what "the dead we left behind in Glasgow" means?

Absolutely not ! This is classic Barney, pissed as a fart.

And I don't think it means anything in particular. Maybe there had been a fight in Glasgow ?!

I think the first line could be debatable but definitely not the second one :boxing:

Sorry Geri, but both utterances came from the esteemed bass fiend. They'd played both long and short versions of Blue Monday the night before at Glasgow Tiffanys, and it had ended up a bit of a wild night backstage!

No need, I've already dug it out, even forced Deek to listen to it. But of course he always agrees with whatever I say, so that was a waste of time

I'm sure you know that, if he did say that, he pinched it from Ringo Starr.

He definitely said it,on that MTV interview when their on the pennines overlooking Manchester (think it was for Technique).

RFH - looking directly at the large leather jacketed geezer that had been 'dancing' much to the mirth of those around him:

'This one's for all the fat bastards in the audience'

Further pleas for the Central Poly Of London crowd to move back "or we'll be here next week doing a suffocation benefit"

Not sure if this counts , but Glastonbury 1987 Just before Age of Consent hooky says "this ones to warm you up for that long , cold night you got ahead of you" and someone in the audience retorts with a heartfelt "fuck off!" always makes me chuckle

although my all time fave is "you shouldnt swear...."

no just been thinking about it maybe my fave is Barney's audience baiting :

"sorry to keep you waiting , just waiting for the sequencer to load up ......not sorry really , don't give a shit really....." New York '83 i think

Edinburgh 85 or 86.....

Barney:" it's like the fookin blues brothers here, need fuckin chicken wire with you lot"

later in a large gap...... Hooky: "What's the matter, never waited for an Emulator to load before?"

Anyone shed any light on....

Hooky at Gmex '86,before BLT; "This ones' for the,er,Blackburn lads,'cos we all know what the Blackburn lads get upto, don't we?"

  :thumb:

& I'd love to know what Hooky said during STYT at the Hac' in '86 after someone launched a bottle at the stage & it just missed Steve. All I could see & hear was he stopped playing, stormed upto the mic',shouting, swearing & pointing a lot....not impressed at all.No-one else threw anything tho'....

Surely the Dave Fanning interview with Hooky from '82 has to be one the bass fiends' finest hours:nod: :thumb:
