also, what other stickers or writings has the band have/had on their guitars/bass.. synths.. etc.?
if a confederate flag is an appropriate symbol to putting on ones guitar.
i think last time the discussion ran to 4 pages.
ok i dont know much about history and origin of flags and such... but um, whats the story about it?
do you have a link to this other discussion instead?
nope
it scares me that you know so little about the history of your own country. you know that little war about 140 years ago; North vs South, slavery etc.
look it up.
It's a 'red-rag'... Why he flashes it about is confusing... maybe it's because he's a primal scream admirer?
Last time, someone found out that a sticker of the Confederate flag was placed on Gibson SG's but Barney couldn't be arsed to take the sticker off.
PSQ, do you seriously not have a clue about the history of the flag???
Nah, the Dukes was before her time ![]()
Sounds about right, that SG's had them on by default, I know a BIG SG fan, I will interrogate him on this. Barney's is a "junior" is it not, whatever that means.
Regarding stickers.....
My Aria, still bears a sticker put there by our big band drummer at 930 AM while I was on my "warm up the bass amp by playing towers of dub for an hour" trip...."Caution, IRRITANT".
Flea's bass is covered in many many stickers, and right in the middle of it, and no obscured by any other, is one of the sleeve of Unknown Pleasures. tasteful guy.
(as an aside to that, my phone rang in work a while ago, it plays Ceremony...someone asked "is that the peppers, it really sounds like them". SIGH. )

If that someone was to think that the great New Order was the Peppers...
...
Never mind! I'm just gonna go read captions and laugh until I'm in tears!

Considering Gibson is based in Nashville, not really.![]()

Jesus, you know how to use a computer, but do you really not know about the Confederate Flag and a little something called the Civil War?

There simply isn't 51 states. Unless you're using it as a term signifying negative and excessive American influence in other countries.
Washington DC is a district of the US, but not a state.
Puerto Rico is not a US state. It is however an commonwealth and an incorporated territory which is under jurisdiction of the US.
Just sayin'...
I don't think Barney put that sticker on his guitar nor have I ever seen a Gibson SG jr. (or any other Gibson for that matter) that came with a factory Confederate flag sticker on it.
I think I recall that Barney got that guitar because it was given to him to use on a music video shoot (Not sure if it was for NO or Electronic) and after using it on the shoot he felt that he just had to have it.
My guess is the previous owner put it on and as someone else mentioned he probably didn't bother taking it off...

. . . despite our extreme proximity, Canada is not a US state either . . .
I’m completely bewildered at the fact that an American would lack knowledge of what a confederate (rebel) flag is - - - BTW it's also had some naughty "white power" nuances linked to - - - - though I'm NOT implying that it being on Barney's guitar has any racist connotations.

I've heard politicians joke about Canada being the 51st state and such, but no - it is not state either. ![]()
Not implying anything against PSQ, but one should have an inkling about the Confederate flag and the racists connotations associated with the flag itself.

Maybe Barney is trying to send fans a subliminal message:
"go out and buy 'Give Out But Don't Give Up'...Bobby needs cash"
