What exactly did barney do on the Banderas album? Didn't he produce and do keyboards on the song "This is your life"?
And which version of the Beat Club's "Security" does Barney sing on and produce? I found a few but he's not on any of them.

I had that Bandaras album on cassette. It was alright, a bit bland and samey though. Barney did backing vocals on "This is your life" I seem to recall.
He did, but its the same kind of backing vocals as he did on Stefani's track (you cant hear it!). Think he remixed the Beat Club track,i've got the CD single on Robs Records and dont think there is a vocal version.

I also seem to remember that both Barney and Johnny Marr were mentioned in the credits.
Barney's Beat Club Remix is ace!
Not only does he add his tradmark vocals, but there's extra keyboard melodies as well.
Yeah, it sounds a tad dated, but it's still a charming piece of late 80s electronic dance pop
I'm still not sure which one of the Beat Club ones Barney did. lol. I found a few, but there's one that sounds like a mix of it that he would have done, and its running time is 5:06. is that it? Its labeled as "Security '88".

If you get the one with the robot on the sleeve its the right one. To be truthful its not that good. The original was a bit of a Hacienda tune, so Gretton picked it up and The remixes added to flog it.

Stephen Hague produced most of the "Ripe" I believe with both Barney and Johnny Marr appearing on a few tracks. Barney handled the keyboards and some guitar work while Marr played the distinctive opening wah-wah riff on "This Is Your Life". I heard a story that Barney originally wrote the riff but couldn't play it brilliantly and so asked Johnny to do it.

He does vocals on his own remix (Full Length at 5:54 and also a shorter Edit at 3:58). Both versions can be found on the Rob's Records CD single. He also did a dub version minus his vocals. I originally made the mistake of buying The Beat Club's actual album not realising the album cut of Security is Barney-free.
There are also US 12" singles of 'Security' out there with (supposedly) different track timings that could have Barney vocals but I don't own those.
