Thank you, everyone. I thought I might start a thread where I just talk to myself a la Major or Huntsman. I know it's actually pretty pathetic that I have such a small number of posts for all the time I've been here. But I'm into quality and not quantity!;):\puke:

But why does everybody have to remind me that I have finals? I'm doing my damndest to forget!!!

You WILL be forgetting your finals the moment you start waltzing back into Room 101 matey... ;)

Cos you'll probably never come back out! :evil4:

You know, Martin, I feel like turning over a new leaf. I don't want to be bitter and jaded anymore. I don't want to be condemning or rejecting. I want to love and accept everyone for who they are. I refuse to get upset about things that don't go my way or to get frustrated about people I don't think are trying their best. Let's make Room 101 a place for forgiveness and embracing the commonalities that make us part of that huge family we call the human race. Together we can make this world a better place to live. :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2::love: :love2:  :love2:  :love2::love: :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2::love: :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:  :love2:

I just got done with mine, so don't sweat it (of course, if you're reading this AFTER you get done with your finals, then put my advice in past tense)

Nope, next week! I only have two but I also have two papers and various other crap before semester's end. The only difference between undergrad and graduate school is that I have all my classes in the same building and I get a discount on books. And there is no such animal as a "C"!

well...on second thought...could we just make it a Kylie show...at least there I would have something to look at!!!

...i'm seriously rethinking my decision to go back to school, actually...although it's not really the finals that are doing it; it's the fear of Owing Massive Amounts Of Money.

something i already do, having a mortgage and all. and still paying off the loan for my computer. not to mention normal cost of living, my ever-growing crack music addiction, etc, etc...

though i'm sure around finals time, i don't want to know what i'd be posting.

'specially since i wave the guns around enough as it is, and i'm not even in school right now!

to anyone involved in finals, i wish you all the best of luck. :thumb:

I know what you mean. it's hard going from making money to owing it. But I think of it as giving myself options and freedom in terms of what I want to do. And, it usually helps salary wise in the long run. Life's too short so do what you want to do. You'll find the money you need. And if you're happy, the money won't matter as much(theoretically)!

I was really fortunate to find the job I did when I graduated. But I outgrew it, I didn't want to be told what to do all the time and I hated my boss. So here I am back in school. I wish you luck with your decision, J. Just make sure you're happy (or at least as happy as you can be, I don't know if work or school is worse!)

BTB, how do you do that crossing out thing? Or is that a secret between you and the Martian?

Congrats on your milestone there! As for the crossing out thing, all I did was click on the reply to this message icon, and look for the appropriate script in the text, meaning this Nsync.

oh, i know...i'm just going through a bit of a panic now, cos i'm actually thinking about the money i owe. i HATE the idea of owing anyone anything, particularly money...i think maybe i get more paranoid about it than i should because of the circumstances in which i was raised.

again, yeah...i usually feel similarly to what you said up there. i don't think i'd not go back to school AT ALL...i just think i might delay it for another year. but at the same time, i've been out long enough, and only going part-time, i prolly won't get my undergrad degree before i'm 30 anyway. :nonono:  :nonono: which depresses the hell out of me, so i indeed must get cracking!

thanks for the encouragement, though...and i've long felt much the way you're describing. money in general doesn't mean all that much to me...doing what i wanted to do has always been more important. and i'll find it...just get spooked once in awhile, i s'pose. ;)

as for the strikeouts, 'tis no secret. little HTML tricks. enclose the word "strike" within < and > at the beginning of whatever it is you're trying to cross out, and then "/strike" between another set at the end of whatever it is to end it.

exciting, yo!

Don't you love it when you try to resell your books and the bookstore won't take them back? It's always something about "new editions" being printed, when all that's really different is the cover artwork! Just ticks me off, really.....

I have just realised that I have been in school for almost 21 years straight. Oy vey. I think I need to enter the real world for my sanity.

I should be studying for administrative law, doesn't it just sound utterly scrummy ;), but well, here I am.

:hi:

Here's the pisser! We're supposed to keep most of our books so that we can reference them for comprehensive exams, which is a whole other pisser. After your third year the professors come up with these questions you have to answer over a two day period from memory! You're supposed to reference all the crap that you've learned in the previous three years. Essentially it's a rite of passage on par with a fraternity initiation. :headoff:

Where's the tearing your hair out smilie?

Nice job there Iain  That's what I like about this board, you can use some HTML in the messages.

Trying this out:

I am a closet Britney fan

NOT!!!!!

Now we just gotta find a good topic to use the scrolling effect on like Marty and Seb have done.

Thanks, Green err, Allan, err Green.

That was fun!

By the way, I dig the eight-track! Is that a collector's item now? i think my parents were to cheap to have an eight-track(we had cars with AM only radios), i don't remember ever seeing them in the house but they did have a reel to reel!

I wish I had the Television 8-track! Actually, I chose that pic as a juxtaposition of two trends from back in the late 70's.

Don't know if you like Televison, but that is a different track order than is on the vinyl version, so that's another reason I kept the pic. BTW, I don't actually own a player, but I do keep an eye out for interesting tapes, of which I own four.

Lou Reed: Transformer (with Walk On The Wild Side split into two segments) Boo!!!!Hiss!!!!:violent:

Roxy Music: For Your Pleasure

New York Dolls second album

The Last Poets At Last album (first rappers ever, I believe)
