sorry, i know i'm a little behind, but am aware that many of these symbols had hidden meaning and a message to the song/albums (?) that supposedly is common knowledge to the whole NO fanbase.

i ask this because i was reading the artifacts thread and saw the leaf thing and that chocolatey looking thing.

sorry.

The leaf on TOOTHPASTE was INSPIRED by a FALLEN LEAF that PETER SAVILLE caught one FALL.The original he displayed at his exhibitions. It took me ages to pinch it and replace with another i found outside the URBIS!

one explanation Peter gives is in his book on p186, but the other perhaps lesser known reference, which he told me about when we were revisiting it for "Singles", is to Yves Klein, and an event which is explained here...

there are other meanings in there, which are explained in various other interviews, but the Yves Klein reference is the one which i like.

You will find that there are often many hidden meanings and references in Peter's work, which most people would miss unless they look into it further.

hope that helps, and i'll get me anorak!

I guess it's why i stick up for PS when people are being dismissive of his work, because you will find that all his work is full of more meaning than would be apparent at first glance.
