Any thoughts? My response is Steve - this guy puts blood, sweat, and tears and every live performance I see of them, Steve is working his ASS off, and sounds fantastic. Especially on the Joy Division tracks....

Definitely Steve. Half the time you see him he's drenched in sweat and still drumming like a madman. I'm amazed he can work so hard for so long and always sound fantastic...I'd probably get tired after a minute or two :P I suppose Hooky works quite a bit too in some songs...though nowhere near as much as Steve...

It's not just about live shows, is it? I think Bernard is a perfectionist in the studio and puts everything into getting the songs right. He's probably the main creative force in Joy Division / New Order and I suspect is also the one who experimented the most musically.

erm...puh-lease...anyone with half a brain knows that Hooky is the hardest working one...for fucks sake, the mad bastard would probably do a gig or a DJ set every fucking day if someone would let him...

Jack, am I right???

Was always amazed Steve's arms didn't drop off at the end of this performance of AOC

Another fantastic thread!

Steve works harder... 'cos he's a drummer'?

How on earth can a guitarist or keyboard player ever hope to appear to work harder ... than a drummer?!

(Mind, have you seen Steve on BLT - lazy so-and-so hardly moves behind them keyboards).

I'd have said Hooky's the hardest working. His worldwide travel for his DJ sets is absolutely amazing for a lad his age.

Oh, and he covers more of the stage than Steve does during a gig. :uhoh:

Fook off, it was Gillian all along, having to do all the housework like taking out the trash and cooking while the guys were all too busy just recording. :evil4: And she still came up with her parts in the studio like everyone else and fought the ever-malfunctioning sequencers on stage while still being totally cool about it.

No wonder one needs a good break after 10+ years of all that stuff.

Thats an easy one. Barneys autocue!:D

You do all realise that Bernard runs a 24/7 snack bar in Longsight, do you not? And a fleet of Taxis?

Don't know about the hardest working member. But the LAZIEST MEMBER's got to be Ian Curtis.Lays back on his laurels and lets the rest do the work.

Hard work means nothing.

Hooky works the smartest

I thought that the idea of joining a pop band was to shag birds, and most of all avoid work at any cost.

Seems to have worked out quite nicely for the New Order boys and girl.

Tricky question really, Hooky works hardest at being a showman, steve works hard because drumming is physically hard work, Hence shed fulls of speed (just look at his face coming back on stage in PFD) barney works hardest songwriting, gillian works hard with the kids and phil has his work cut out for him trying to look cool surrounded by old men.

All things considered, I think Tony Wilsons remaining kidney works hardest!

I'm calling it a tie between said kidney and Steve.

LOL!:abovelol:

My vote goes to Hooky. As everyone mentions he's the most enthusiastic for NO to do gigs, bounds around the stage like a guy half his age, DJ's around the world - and at short notice Blue Saturday for example and still finds time to work with other musicians and side projects like Hybrid and Freebase. However Steve comes a very close second and as he plays the f*** out of those drums at the gigs and must be like a zombie by the time he finishes. Overall I think everyone in NO work's hard and contributes to the f***ing good music we all love! Cheers!:thumb:

Okay, so thats a shitty thing to say knowing one of his family members visits this forum - even if you are trying to be funny. What on earth do you have to gain by being a cnut?
