If you like New Order, you likely have some appreciation of sleeve design, so I think we should all descend on the Warhol museum in Pittsburgh this summer (as if you had a better plan)...then we can all go the the "O" and get fries.

Besides, the Warhol will kick your ass anyway.

The LP Show 6/23- 8/18/02 The LP Show will feature more than 2,500 LP covers that have been culled from 50 collections. This exhibition will trace the history of graphic design for album covers from its beginnings in the 1940's to contemporary graphics that endure even as the medium gives way to the digital age of the compact disc. During the last half of the 20th century, the album cover was one of the most distributed popular art mediums. The LP Show will examine the tremendous impact commercial artists, who were often employed by large record labels and doing amazing work in absolute anonymity, had on post-war popular culture. The covers are divided by theme and musical category, with clusters devoted to everything from clowns, couples and astronauts to circles, spirals and monochromes. Contributors include David Garland, John Zorn, Jim Thirlwell, Thurston Moore, Stephen Vitiello and Christian Marclay among others.

What do y'uns think?

You get to Cleveland, and I'll give you the tour here and then drive you to Pittsburgh. And we'll stop in Erie on the way and cut some tracks at my buddy's studio (the one with all the vintage keys and guitars...Moog Source, Roland SH-101, Farcheesa, Wurlitzer, Mustangs, Rickenbackers, etc).

And if you're really nice (or naughty  ), I'll drive you to Akron!

 ...and a friend of mine lives in Akron, and maybe by then he'd have the tapes of the band from the convention done and i could grab them from him! and save him the cost of postage! :D

truthfully, dunno what's going on this summer in terms of my ability to do much of anything, especially travel. and probably won't for some time...band-related, uh, stuff. ;)

...send postcards? :D

Well, that would leave us with a three-week layover before the LP show. How comfy is your couch?
