Dunno whether Making Out is available on DVD, the theme was an instrumental mix version of Vanishing Point and is available on one of the Round & Round CD's.

Google them mate :thumb:

As far as I know it's never even been repeated, let alone released officially. Shame, it was a good series.

No, it's not available on either VHS or DVD, even though I keep checking Play/Amazon in the vain hope that it will be! :)

Also waiting for "Common As Muck" to be released on DVD - I rather enjoyed that one!

I'm sure I've got some of it on old VHS tapes up in the loft.

Alex was asking a few months back but I've still not had a chance to dig it out. It's on my list of stuff to do :\ohwell:

The next time the beeb show this lot is when they stream their archive stuff on the net, about 10 years time!, we've already paid for it, (english TV liscence holders that is) we should be able to see it when we want.

Regarding when/if Making Out will be released on DVD it all depends upon whether or not the BBC own's the rights to the show. If they do then it and many other contempoary drama series like Looking After Jo Jo, Tinsel Town etc. have been put on the back burner in the terms of possible DVD release as they BBC is IMO only interested in milking the safe, 'period drama' cash cow they know has an audience/will make money. The best hope is if it was made by a independent production company as they can bypass the BBC and release DVD's through a third party. This is what Kudos has done with Life On Mars and I bet the BBC now wish they'd kept all that in house now LOL!:abovelol: One final fly in the ointment could be someone - actor, writer, production staff etc. could be objecting to the series being repeated on tv and/or released on DVD due to contractual (money) arrangements or some other reason that they're not happy with just like Martin Shaw was with The Professionals in the late 1980's. Overall it would be nice to see Making Out released on DVD and if it is being held over by the BBC I've got the address to contact in order to see about it being released BBC Commissioning Editor, 3rd Floor, 2 Entertain Ltd, 33 Foley Street, London, W1W 7TL Hope this helps! Cheers!:thumb:

It ran for two series in 1989 and 90 I think. Keith Allen was in although his character was killed off at the end of the first series. The theme tune was an instrumental version of Vanishing Point as they were working on Technique at the time the contract for Making Out came in. Shame it's never been released as I'd like to see it again. Margi Clarke was in it too.

The music for Common As Muck (two series again) was down to Gillian and Steve mainly. Their track, New Horizons, was the theme tune to the series and that's on Super Highways, Other Two's second and final album. Tim Healy and Kathy Burke were in C.A.M and it's not been released on DVD or anything since its original transmission around ten years ago.

from what I remember, it was largely instrumental variations upon Vanishing Point (Making Out Mix), The Happy One, and parts of World In Motion (which was originally the Reportage theme), all of which were being worked on around Technique-time. Not particularly good from what I remember, but curious.

I loved it, good Northern comedy drama.

Keith Allen's character was banging the old woman from Emerdale who now looks like an old maid.

I struck up conversation on a train to Croydon back in 91/92 with the actor that played Margi Clarke's character's estranged son - nice guy.

Keith Allen was a regular at the Hac during the filming - got his cock out a lot, i recall reading somewhere.
