Barney in new collaboration

No, fair play to him, he's obviously quite touched by Oakwood and what they have done there.

yes. I agree with u. An interesting collaboration for a nice human being like Barney .
He has talked a lot about how he felt the educational system he grew up with was flawed and unnecessary, where only a teacher here and there really paid attention to his talents and encouraged them as opposed to expecting something out of him he couldn't deliver. He's mentioned it enough that it was plain to see it was something he was very affected by and it is good he's reflecting that back into helping a community. Good on him. ![]()

I agree and personally my schooling was a similar laise-faire approach that Bernard may have experienced. If someone like Bernard can channel and inspire young people into constructive and positive things then fair play to them as many 'personalities' within the 'rock establishment' (sic) wouldn't be a***ed to! Nice one Bernard

Nice to see he's not just floating around on that dinghy in his spare time. So who's going then?

No, it is nice to see that he isn't a total cnut. It wouldn't be nice to find out that he is.

Not sure that the education system failed him. More the other way round. He had a great opportunity to benefit from a relatively high standard of education but preferred to spend his time dicking about getting kudos from the other class clowns. Perhaps there is an element of regret which he is attempting to assuage by his involvement with Oakwood. If he had taken up his place at medical school though, would we still have had JD/NO?
There's nothing he regrets. He's told us so before!
Whatever the reasons, it's a valid and worthwhile cause.
I'm sure he doesnt regret how life has turned out for him but perhaps there is some guilt for those less fortunate such as those at Oakwood.

He did look genuinely moved when talking to Granada TV after the Oakwood show.
so what is exactly his job on the play? is he acting, is he making music for it or is he just helping out in general?
