I have just been on ebay and have noticed a 2002 version of world in motion(3 tracks) for sale for £20. As the site is currently doing maintenence I couldnt check out the description. Does anybody know if this is a fake? Is somebody trying to make a quick buck from a remix done on their own computer?

Supposedly, something is due in the offing, with a new New Order track (Such a Good Thing, I think?) included as part of the disk.

Though why there's no official line yet, I don't know.

Surely if it is being released for the world cup then they are cutting it a bit fine for promotion, radio play etc.

No great surprise there then. Well done London Records.

Have just seen the description on ebay and the new track is Such a Good Thing. Anybody heard it yet or the new mix of WIM?

David Sultan over at WorldInMotion appears to have a copy. Said it's a totally new song, bit like 'Someone Like You'.

shamelessly stolen from that site.....

...such a good thing" is a a full length (4:10) NEW New Order song with hooky bass, barney guitars & vocals. written by new order. produced by New Order and Steve Osborne. programmed and engineered by Bruno Ellingham.

Good track, it has a rhythm & bass line similar to "someone like you" but a totally different song on top of that.

The chorus goes something like: "get out - and do what you have to do, don't look down - just look straight ahead of you, hang around - and get a point of view, don't look down - just do what you want to do"

The other tracks are the same as the on the old "world in motion" release. the "no alla violenza mix" is 5:23 long on this release. The catalogue number is NUOCD12 for the cd single. it's a London/MCA release

Slobbing out as I am, I've noticed that "WIM" video is getting quite a lot of rotation on MTV at the mo' ... thought it was just nostalgia, but it seems not.

On this subject, I fucking hated "WIM" when I first heard it, but my memories of it now are wildly rose-tinted: dancing round like a drunken loon throughout the blazing summer of 1990. Hey, we nearly won the bloody thing that year....!! New Order, eh? Get asked to write a footy song, and they come up with a loved-up "E"-anthem. Still wish they'd called it "E For England", though.

What's the point? Zero chance of even hitting the Top 30.

Yeah, quite! Keep on milking it.....keep on milking it...... and anyway, back in 1990, as a consequence of the loved-up vibe then, the whole tournament turned out to be one of the best ever in terms of crowd trouble - meaning there was actually surprisingly very little of it overall. Fast-forward to the present.... can't see the hardcore of European hooligans getting too loved up with anything these days....apart from the sound of their own fists slamming repeatedly against their opponents. What's the fooking point of bringing this out again? Then probably another mix of "Blue Monday" to round off the year, "that'll do nicely boys, now please piss off out of our label - you are the weakest link - goodbye!"
