Decided to watch 'Here are the Young Men' for the first time in quite awhile today ... I've decided that I don't like that fast version of Shadowplay that they play at that gig ... Did Joy Division always play Shadowplay that fast live ? It seems to lose all its intensity ...

Still one of my three fav JD songs ...

Usually, yes. It gains intensity if anything though !

One of the best versions I've heard is from Les Bains. Overall I can't tell much difference between the studio version and that one.

Love the version they did for Granada - So it goes? So I'd have to say I prefer the slower version;)

  Fook me - them old tape recorders were a bloody nightmare alright:lol: I remember trying to record a New Order album in the late 80's (we were poor then!) every time I got a song started - some bastard would open my bedroom door, or shout me from downstairs that my dinner was ready (which of course - you could hear in the background of the New Order song you had recorded!!) must've took me 3 weeks to get Low-Life onto a casette:evil4: Thanks fer the trip down memory lane Mick:D
