Would have to be the Hyde Park meet for me! :thumb:

I finally got to put faces to names and met a few of the nutters, namely,Rocket mick,Shuglet,jt+ lucy, bansheeman etc, etc, far too many more to mention :thumb:

And I cannot believe to this day that i was in a boozer in MAYFAIR and it was CHEAPER than my local!

And the first community album was superb, made by the fans for the fans!

Spesh mention goes to bansheeman, thanks for entertaining us in Scarbro! :thumb:

ally wrote: Not strictly a "NOOL moment" but it's only fair to mention the original set of NO sites between 1996-2000 even if it was a quiet time for the band themselves.

The Ceremony mailing-list in particular was one of the original places to talk to other fans on the web. Some fond memories of that list... exclusive bits of news, discovering MP3s for the first time, the "faster" Brutal leaking out, the 98 Peel Session, no shed etc.

Some of the other sites that predated NOOL:

The Pop Group With A Dark Past (Antoine Barbet & Dave Stephenson) Music4Pleasure (Harry Nisula) A N E W O R D E R W E B P A G E (James Shum) Ceremony Fac33 mailing-list (Warren Lapham) Procession ('Zman') Temptation (become NOOL)

While NOOL is obviously the place to be, the variation that was around in them days is missed a bit.

aw i still remmeber when you first started posting on ceremony, and now look at you!

oh & shug - you're a cunt.

Yes.Procession was an impressive looking website. Is still? dunno.Whatever happened to Zman i wonder.I used to post on Temptation around 1999/2000.Anyone recall some weird Norwegian or Finnish bloke (could even have been Icelandic even)? He was always being melodramatic about his life and gave a grand statement that he was quitting the site and deeply apoligised for everything he had said and was going to take a good long look at his life blah blah

Wasn't there something i think wenorder posted a year or so back on here where you could access the old Temptation site? Tried it myself but with no success

Froede?

The higlight for me was the blissful moment my olfactory sense detected the sweet perfume of edelweiss, as I became enveloped in the pleasure of hearing Like a Doberman for the 1st time.

I loved Finsbury - Jules and me got absolutely covered in mud and weren't allowed back in the hotel until we'd washed our feet!!

Lots of the meet ups - met lots of great people . . . especially Rocket Mick!

Barcelona last year. I spent a couple of days with my friends who live out there, telling them that a few mates would be joining us on the Saturday.

I'll never forget the look on their faces as those 'few' mates turned up, and completely took over, the Placa Rieal.

Mobile's ringing, running off to find people that were lost, beers sunk, photos taken, stories told and big laughs all day.

Wasn't there a gig that day as well?

Yes. He was/is a mentalist. Sent me a rambling, vaguely threatening email once cos I'd made a crass comment about the burd from Stereolab passing away. He sneaked into the pre-match for Manc 2005 in that shitey student pub and pretended not to remember the email incident. Mental patient AND a keyboard warrior.
