Indeed, just had a certain AR on the phone from Cannes! :eek3:

Think people should let the dust settle for a while.

it just seems odd that a source close to the band would request that these threads would be closed. Silly harmless threads.

was it jack so he could stop trawling through them all and GET ON WITH HIS BLOODY REVISION!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, there is no rat. I received a call requesting that the thread be removed, as some of the information contained within it was misleading and potentially harmful, and could have a negative impact on the attempts to patch up this latest rift between the band.

Which is bang on really isn't it. It's a big time & year for the band, the film, the soundtrack, the re-releases,whatever else, they & we hardly need this pantomime.Another controversial page in the turbulent soap that is J.D./N.O./Factory.It's fookin' great!!! :\ohwell: :thumb:

Hmmm, that's how it looks to me.. Maybe Hooky anounced the split in haste, maybe not. You know how it is with old mates....Like with family, you can fall out and regret it in no time at all,and you are mates again soon enough, with all the ties that bind you.

Just speculating mind,as I'm not sure anyone but themselves knows the extent of the breakdown between Hooky and Barney.

Fingers crossed.

Hooky's blog caused more damage than those threads. You would think that NO would be more concerned with cannes right now, than this site. I for the life of me couldn't think of any damage that was done with these threads.

But it is good to honor their wishes.

Best of luck to AR & RB anyway.

As more details come out it does sound like the management have been stuck between a rock (Barney) and a hard place (Hooky) with all these split announcements. From the earlier "split" rumours it sounded like they had mutually decided not to work together as New Order again. All change now eh.

Just goes to show that these little interview comments leaking out (MySpace) do more damage than a thread on here could ever do. Understandable why they wanted it removed though.

Obviously if they really are gone as a band then that's fair enough, we've all had more than enough time to get used to it.

Failing that, one final gig and the Sirens leftovers album please :thumb:

Crikey. If anyone within - or connected with - the band give two shits about what the dozen-or-so plebs who contribute to this forum think, then it probably really is time to knock it on the head.

Fuck me, they start the rumour then whine about it spreading. They aren't leaving Warners to sign for Chelsea are they?

I think the point though Fradders is that the press do read this site, as they do Hooky's MySpace, and all this unwanted media coverage over what is frankly a non-story has come about because the papers have got hold of stuff posted on here and on MySpace.

Tim, you should have deleted the part where it was problematic only, I have no idea if people still have access to the thread via the link on the home page (discuss this topic)...

I'll have to remove the link.

No, they don't. Only people with access to the "Deleted Posts" forum can read the thread.

Meanwhile, there's just been a quite substantial piece about "Control" on Channel 4 news.

I was wondering, actually: does the 'split' create more or less 'good' publicity for the band and their back catalogue - a back catalogue that's going to be very lucrative this year when the movie comes out......

Absolutely not! NO WONDERING! Just buy the remastered back catalogue and London's new compilation "The Very Best of New Order."

That is all.

Just for that, an angry email from New Order's management is being sent to your employer.
