Indeed, thanks for the shots. Anton looks even taller than usual this time. ![]()
Yep, as Hooky said: "Steve always in the middle, God bless 'im!"

Just watch me, Jonno.
OK, so they don't look as awkward as I thought they'd look. I'm glad they could put aside their differences (at least to take some pictures) to promote the Control film.. together.
Do you know what? I'm just pleased they have at least managed to have a picture together...here's hoping they can make more music together too...

Anton Corbjin and Sam Reiley (aka Ian Curtis)
i'm i missing something. they don't look awkward at all. Looks like a normal 21-century photo of the lads(including barney's white wine).

As said before, most of that was Stephen Hague's fault![]()
Mick Aneworderfan wrote: It's true, many bands carry on rather well without a key founding member, like Depeche Mode or Pink Floyd, but not at this point of their career... it was just a matter of one last album and it would have ended anyway, they're not really the kind of cartoon rockers like The Rolling Stones to walk on stage at 60... actually I think it's fun to see the Stones still playing at their age, but New Order wouldn't be cool at all at 60... If Bernard, Steve and Phil want to keep on working together I'm happy, they can do great music, we can have a sort of new Electronic. But they must not dare to use the New Order name, it's too holy, they'd get really burnt. If they do music with a new name critics will judge with curiosity. If they do music without Hooky as New Order they will be slaughtered. And rightly so. Anyway, who's in Cannes? I don't think Hooky's with the rest of the band, is he?!
I don't really look at the age of the musicians, I just call it like I hear it and New Order sound pretty damn good to me. Their last two albums plus the Here To Stay single were excellent in my opinion and if they carry on like that I would take them over a youthful Killer, Bravery, Interpol or whoever else wants to mooch of their sound.

Had a pic of him on my dart board once for his various crimes against Hooky.
New Order without Hooky is like watching Taras Shevshenko again, nobody talking to the audience just the music
Hooky, borrow some prozac from Bernard and come back to the team again, lazy bastard! ![]()
Pics taken in Cannes can mean anything. They might have spent the whole evening avoiding each other and even sat apart at the screening, although I'd like to think they all sat together in the front row with Anton, Sam etc to see the finished work. I like to think they were at least civil to each other and maybe cordial. They are supposed to be friends after all.
I'm of the view that New Order cannot exist with any real credibility if either Morris, Hook or Sumner left. That's not to diss what Gillian brought to the band during her time but the three of them are quintessentially NO and, besides, Hook's a pretty unique player - who could really replace him? Sure they'd have the ability but not the attitude!
Ps Aprapos of nowt, was Gillian in Cannes with hubby or was obliged to remain in rainy Derbyshire with the kids?
whoa whoa whoa...
calling hooky a lazy bastard...I'll fucking stomp you a new mud hole for that one...
I don't see anyone else from the band going all over the world like Hooky...
long story short...we don't know what his beef is with Barney is, and to tell the truth, I don't really give a shit...they are grown adults, and if Hook chooses to no longer work with Mr. Sumner, so be it. The only real tragedy here (for me) would be that I'd have to start planning real holidays from now on...
shit...I might even find myself a woman...
now there is a NOVEL CONCEPT!!!

In Cannes, according to Sultan of WIM.
Imagine if New Order carried on without Hooky and they did a gig.How on earth would Hooky feel, sat at home twiddling his thumbs??? Unthinkable

That's exactly what I thought. Next time I will have to go the beach just like normal people do in their holidays around here, instead of following New Order through three different countries.
