one of the comments underneath it,said that at one point, they had written lyrics to it

There was an audio track of two school boys talking/arguing or something like that but i dont think it was ever properly considered. Just as well with the current two school boys arguing...

:abovelol:

The current argument would obviously be for the 18 minute version...

Its on Retro but I got it off Soulseek or Limewire I think. Its basically got 2 lines from the 2 lads.

"my names Ben"

"my names Justin"

or something.

The Wall is the song featuring the two boys saying their names.

Elegia has only ever been an instrumental as far as I am aware.

Ive never heard the boys say their names on The Wall. Maybe its in Part 2 or Part 3?

On the 18 hour version of Elegia there is a part where the 2 boys say a line each. Its a bit hidden in the mix but its definately there.

I thought I read somewhere that they were brought into the studio to add some vocals but no one had bothered to write anything for them. So they were asked to record what their names were.

Would that really count as lyrics? WOuld be great if they did have a singing section at one point though. I like the bass/guitar :)

Nah. I've always taken the song ("Elegia") as a goodbye to Ian, so it's very fitting that it's an instrumental.

they lads were about 14 so thats probably why one sounded like a woman.

I've never heard the 18minute version and I don't think I ever want to. The 5 (or however long it is) version on Lowlife really annoys me... I guess all they do for the 18min one is build more layers of instruments and take it up to a huge crescendo. I think if i heard all that I'd just end up doing some violence to the cat!

An 18 minute version though...I think the one on Low-Life is just long enough to be incredibly sad without making you kill someone...:D
