You missed out "becomes a 'specialist' porn star", which I've always assumed was his true calling.

Make electronic music for kids only like Bruce Haack and Raymond Scott did. :baby:

i couldn't agree more.

now at least, he can vent!

You missed out the most obvious one, do nothing. Mind you, we know he's been doing some music stuff with a school or kids' centre, don't we?

He'll do the america's cup.

Maybe he will decide to fill the vacancy for resident Bernard at the Embassy club and substitute the word bassist for mother-in-law in the repetoire

never been a great fan , anyway, of his solo albums . I don't expect him to start again an experience like Electronic! And if i had any advice to say, it would be certainly " please don't do it again!" :abovelol: But of course he will not consult me - just for one reason: he doesn't even know i'm alive :D ! But all his side projects were less interesting than what he did in NO or with ( of course) JD. So do nothing would be , maybe, the best. Is there something more to prove for him ??? But as J.L Godard answered to the question: "Why are u doing movies ? " - "Parce que je n'ai pas le courage de ne rien faire!" (Because i'm not courageous enough to do nothing!). *-Ca fait réfléchir, n'est ce pas ?*NDLR.:D

Production if he wants to work.

he's gonna off himself like ian...

Well, if there's no New Order, then probably a solo album - he needs the money for a new yacht! :evil4:

:smoking:

(He did used to DJ quite a lot before Hooky took it up - I saw both of 'em DJ with the Pet Shop Boys a couple of years back, so I guess he could try and compete!)

i see him doing production work and maybe starting a new side project musically...

I voted production, but perhaps he'll finally pursue that soundtrack work. I think he'd be a natural.

Does he need the money? I think that is the determining factor.

Can he write? Novels? Editorials? Use the Dickens name again...

Bernard doen't really like performing much in front of crowds. He doesn't like writing lyrics much. He doesn't seem much interested in playing instruments. He doesn't seem to have much musical inspiration in the last decade, the time of his producing music is long past gone. He doesn't want to have fun with New Order, riding on past glories. So. Might as well retire.

I reckon he'll just get old and wear dodgy cardies

The one Id go for wasnt on the list!

Collaborations. I dont think Barney would comfortable with putting stuff out as a solo artist, and I hear that Johnny Marr is busy with other projects at the mo. But I could see Barney hooking (is that a bad term nowadays?) up with other artists (maybe his mates Billy Corgan, Moby, PSB, Primal Scream, Bez, etc).

lose a bit of weight.

I can see an "Ultra Rare B-Sides/Remix" album coming out in the next few years...

I voted for solo artist but fear it could be for him to sit on his arse and put out another best of...

Maybe with Karl Bartos. Here is an interview with Karl Bartos. Karl Bartos speaks about a possible future collaboration with Barney: www.nattefrostproductions.dk

What a great interview - thanks for that  Would look forward to a collaboration between Karl and Bernard - wonder if it will ever happen? Good mention for Client too - one of my favourite bands! :)

but any way i really like Barney. He's very lovable. Just like all the rest of this band. This is one of the reasons i 'm still into NO. It's like they are "one of us", normal persons, not rock stars, with qualities and failures.

I voted Dj-ing,he's done it before.More likely solo album though, what with this Karl Bartos collab, plus I've heard Barney's also collaborating with Alex James (Blur).

Guys, you didn't hear this from me....but I just got word from a VERY reliable source that Brawny is going to take up rapping, and will become the oldest white rapper in history!! He's actually working with $0.50 and Eminem at the moment! Woohooo!!!

Stand in for Willain Shatner

Definitely his demeanor towards the stage and fans of the last ten years means he does not want to do much anymore.

Too much ecstacy and pernod? We will never know.

I reckon that could be pretty good (if he can get his arse in gear)... I think AHW mentions somewhere that Sumner is actually something of a quiet genius as a writer and producer- mind you he also reckons Shaun Ryder is one of most important poets!:eek3:

Actually, it would be nice to have an actual Best Of that is up to date and easily bought.

The singles collection is more of a retrospective I think...so a best of would be great for driving in the car =]

If you buy all the CDs and have a computer you can make up your own "Best of" for the car, surely.

Pretty sure no-one would buy another "best" collection when they've already got each version in 9 different versions :nonono:

Damn. I still would. I'm an idiot :banghead:

And another Best Of... would at least give us an excuse to ridicule the track-listing and the blatant omission of some of their best songs...

and what's happening to the unreleased WFTSC 'songs ??? I can't imagine NO without Hooky anyway. A solo project for Barney , why not ? Does he still want to play music? that's another question? And what was this personal problem with Hooky ????

Barney's new project: an album of covers.

I expect it to look something like this:

Switch the meaning and reserve the words. Covers for Albums. Could organize and finance a few Design Studios that have both the Recording Sound Space and some Art work- Printing Facilities.. Basement Suites, Lofts  or warehouses to practice in. That type of Deal plus the occasional Single release. DNE.
