You missed out "becomes a 'specialist' porn star", which I've always assumed was his true calling.

i couldn't agree more. ![]()
now at least, he can vent!
You missed out the most obvious one, do nothing. Mind you, we know he's been doing some music stuff with a school or kids' centre, don't we?
Maybe he will decide to fill the vacancy for resident Bernard at the Embassy club and substitute the word bassist for mother-in-law in the repetoire
never been a great fan , anyway, of his solo albums . I don't expect him to start again an experience like Electronic! And if i had any advice to say, it would be certainly " please don't do it again!"
But of course he will not consult me - just for one reason: he doesn't even know i'm alive :D ! But all his side projects were less interesting than what he did in NO or with ( of course) JD. So do nothing would be , maybe, the best. Is there something more to prove for him ??? But as J.L Godard answered to the question: "Why are u doing movies ? " - "Parce que je n'ai pas le courage de ne rien faire!" (Because i'm not courageous enough to do nothing!). *-Ca fait réfléchir, n'est ce pas ?*NDLR.:D
Well, if there's no New Order, then probably a solo album - he needs the money for a new yacht! ![]()

(He did used to DJ quite a lot before Hooky took it up - I saw both of 'em DJ with the Pet Shop Boys a couple of years back, so I guess he could try and compete!)
I voted production, but perhaps he'll finally pursue that soundtrack work. I think he'd be a natural.
Does he need the money? I think that is the determining factor.
Can he write? Novels? Editorials? Use the Dickens name again...
Bernard doen't really like performing much in front of crowds. He doesn't like writing lyrics much. He doesn't seem much interested in playing instruments. He doesn't seem to have much musical inspiration in the last decade, the time of his producing music is long past gone. He doesn't want to have fun with New Order, riding on past glories. So. Might as well retire.
The one Id go for wasnt on the list!
Collaborations. I dont think Barney would comfortable with putting stuff out as a solo artist, and I hear that Johnny Marr is busy with other projects at the mo. But I could see Barney hooking (is that a bad term nowadays?) up with other artists (maybe his mates Billy Corgan, Moby, PSB, Primal Scream, Bez, etc).

Maybe with Karl Bartos. Here is an interview with Karl Bartos. Karl Bartos speaks about a possible future collaboration with Barney: www.nattefrostproductions.dk

What a great interview - thanks for that
Would look forward to a collaboration between Karl and Bernard - wonder if it will ever happen? Good mention for Client too - one of my favourite bands! :)
but any way i really like Barney. He's very lovable. Just like all the rest of this band. This is one of the reasons i 'm still into NO. It's like they are "one of us", normal persons, not rock stars, with qualities and failures.
I voted Dj-ing,he's done it before.More likely solo album though, what with this Karl Bartos collab, plus I've heard Barney's also collaborating with Alex James (Blur).
