I want to make this a poll, but then, I don't know which to include, and which shouldn't. And besides, there are too many mixes.

Anyway, I just listened to Confusion Outputs Nu-Rocktro Mix & Edit (mixed by Arthur Baker from Confusion 2002), and I find it awfully bad.

But then, topping my list for this topic is Blue Monday So Hot Mix  (from Acid House Mixes by 808 State EP 2004). The "yeah!" houls just don't match with "how does it feel..." Its really irritating to my ears and I can't stand listening to it. I find it terribly done.

How about you peeps? What NO remixes you can't stand?

Any remix of Jetstream.

Seriously, they should've just left it alone. :nonono:

Oh, and that Howie B. remix of AoC and Richie Hawtin remix of BM drive me up the fucking wall. :banghead:

Any remix that hardly features any of the original lyrics.... (Although that's not just New Order---I don't like remixes like that of anyone's song.)

But that's genius! :nonono:

Not a huge fan of remixes, though I do have a few remix playlists that I tend to stick on on long drives for a bit of variety... Usually end up skipping a fair number of tracks though... I wouldn't say there's any I particularly hate, just would rather listen to the originals or a decent live version...

Same here snorri...the only remixes I tend to like are where the originals were recorded in poor quality and improved upon/remastered -or- the original length 12". All the others are unnessecary and only kill the song by hearing it too many times.

I actually like most of the remixes listed here, but then I just like the whole idea of remixes unlike everyone else here I guess.

But surely it has to be Armand van Helden's godawful remix of BLT? Even I can't stand that one. Accidentally listened to it on an mp3 compilation and found myself hating it all over again before I even realised out what it was. And I'm someone who recently listened again to one of those overlong no-resemblance-to-the-original 1963 remixes recently and decided 'actually its not bad in its own right' so clearly I have very low standards.

Agree entirely (like most of the remixes listed here), like the 1963 Lionrock remixes, but can't stand the Armand Van Helden one...

Oh, and the "So Hot Mix" of "Blue Monday" was just a mess around session recorded to tape back in 1988 as a theme to the Hacienda's "So Hot" night. The "So Hot" vocals are courtesy of (A Guy Called) Gerald. The whole thing (which I really like) would have been re-worked had it been intended for a release back in '88 :smoking:

Ah ok. Thanks for the info. So its A Guy Called Gerald from the Haçienda days who added those crappy vocals. I still find the So Hot Mix irritating to my ears!

Indeed!

Yes, yes... I hate that So hot mix of BM. Thought it was by 808 state, though. The version of Confusion on the B-side is a tiny bit better, but still not up to much really  It took me ages to find it on vinyl as well :nono:

there's too many to mention. for example, ALL of Crystal's remixes, and the Brothers in Rhythm mix of World. that was unbearable even in 1993.

but I have to admit, I really love the 1963 Light mix. It's so cheesy but then again it is really heartbreaking. probably my favourite New Order remix.

Hmmnnn... I'm quite surprised that no one mentioned John Robbie's remixes of Subculture and Shellshock. I was really expecting someone to post that. Or did I spoke to soon?

Subculture 12" mix was so crap it was rumoured to be a piss-take. The bass sequencer goes completely out of time with everything! My guess is the group were so out of their nut they didnt notice, probably still havent....
