New Order Pin Badge — Forum Archive

As the Parisian Crew already know (and the Webmasters, here and at WIM), I've had some pin badges knocked up for the summer gigs. 100 in total, about 35 have gone already. These are hard enamel, 22mm in diameter.

There's a scan on me profile. It's come out a bit dark and as you can see, the badge is a tad Brit-centric(!), but then I only really did these in mind of us Roast Beefs travelling around to the gigs this summer. Andy Liddle was wearing his with pride whilst doing the lights in Paris!

If anyone's up for an ale next Saturday in London, then I'll have a couple on me then. Getting rid of 'em for 3 notes each, although appear to have given a few too many away for free already? Hmmmm. I'll never make businessman of the year. However, if anyone can't make any of the gigs and fancies one, drop us an e-mail at the address on me profile. P&P to Europe's roughly £1 or £1.50 outside Europe - as I'd use a padded envelope to be on the safe side.

They're also exactly the right size to pin through the centre of your Stone Island badge ;)

There appears to be a NOOL drink-up brewing for next Saturday, if you're around.

The THEME TUNE TO THE FILM was played at early NEW ORDER gigs if i am not mistaken.HOOKY used to look like he could have been in the film with his then long hair. CHEERS ROCKET MICK :)

Don't y'all recall wearing "Viking" helmets at various outings in the past - I seem to remember doing the same at TFI Friday 'til security got bored with us and made it clear that the inflatable skeleton we brought with us was more than enough audience participation...thanks very much...

Always thought the skeleton was just a 'Stash' thang, but read somewhere recently that it was actually a United thing, taking the piss outta the 'Pool about Bill Shankly. Can anyone confirm that? Hank?

The New Order "Skeleton thang" started on Grand National day 1987 in the run up to the Brixton Academy, International AIDS day gig. Stash & I threw it onto the stage at the start of the set - you can just about see it on the "Academy" video.

The nature of the event was lost on us and it wasn't until much later that I realised just how insensitive the act might have appeared. "Ian" the skeleton has appeared at various gigs since but it was indeed yet another "Stash" thang that has continued throughout the years - just like the infamous "Stash Stakes" that he rarely ever pays out on...

Don't know for sure but it doesn't sound right, inflatables were much more popular at City, to the point of United giving them stick about it and most Liverpool-United Hostilities were a lot more subdued at the time of inflatables.

Yes, I got a photo and 25 Euros as evidence !! Mind you, at 8 Euros a pint in that place, it didn't go very far :)
