I was really lucky and happened to be at the right place at the right time yesterday, (ok i was seeing transformers), but this guy standing outside the theater asked if i wanted to see a new movie, and i asked what movie it was, and sure enough it was control, and he said it was one of the first north american screenings and it wasn't coming out in the states until December!! the screening was tonight at 7:30 and of course it was packed. I've been really excited about this movie, and i thought it was great, pretty minimalist in a lot of ways, black and white as we knew and hardly any musical score, except for the relevant music of the time and the joy division songs. I was not sure about Sam Riley, but by the end i was totally sold and i was totally engrossed in his transformation to ian. I thought samantha morton was really great too, all in all it's pretty heartbreaking, as expected. i'm tired, so that's all i'll say for now, but if anyone has any questions....
