Manchester New Order related sites to visit

Hello all

I'm not sure which forum this belongs in, so I'll try this one.

I'll be visiting England for the first time this summer, and wanted to try to drop by some New Order / Factory / Smiths related sites (bars, clubs, whatever). I've been a New Order fan for a long time, so to see areas where they started would be interesting for me. It seems like the Hacienda is gone, but I think the Dry Bar is still around. Can anyone add any other places of historical interest to see?

The factory offices are still SORT OF there, there's still a "FACTORY" inlay in the door anyway, just opposite Joshua Brookes if my drunken memory recalls that wander up to the apollo with LeggyD correctly.

Yeah DRY 201 is on Oldham Street which you can get to from Piccadilly Gardens.Halfway up and it's on the right-hand side past VINYL EXCHANGE.And NIGHT & DAY.

And there's always PETER STREET down from the MIDLAND HOTEL,you've got THE FREE TRADE HALL where our heroes first clapped eyes on The Sex Pistols.Further down that road and across at the lights,you've got GRANADA TV STUDIOS,home of Tony Wilson's SO IT GOES,and also back sleeve of Mozzer's VIVA HATE album.From there (err if you've got your walking shoes on!) you could always walk down to REGENT ROAD past the Granada Studios tour (defunct),Right at the lights past Harry Ramsden and Sainsbury's you've got The Salford Lads Club,star of The Smiths QUEEN IS DEAD album.It's a bit hidden but it's on the left off the main road facing FLOORS-To-GO.It might be shut at the moment,because of recent vandalism,but it's got a memorabilia room featuring the shirt Mozzer wore in The Boy With A Thorn In His Side video.
