What was the name of the band that Gillian played in, before joining New Order? Did it ever release any music commercially?

In which band was Gillian Gilbert before joining New Order?
Gillian was a member of The Inadequates, an all-girl punk band.

Yes, I am aware of the Inadequates as Gillian's first band. Then I read it here that the members just wanted to have a band, but couldn't really play. But what I wanted to know for the longest time is, whether the Inadequates did really perform live gigs, had original songs, and what has happened to the other members?
I did try to check the Inadequates just minutes before this posting in the search engines, and I discovered a Liverpool Garage / Pop Punk / Punk band formed back in 1999 with the same name at myspace.
So if the 'original' Inadequates didn't really perform live and/or had original songs, then I guess they don't really have a 'claim' to the name. What are your thoughts about this?
Hey, an all girl DIY punk band that doesn't know how to play instraments sounds pretty cool, sounds like a girl version of how Warsaw started. Did they actually play many shows thou?
Just imagine Gillian aggressively screaming into a mic... can't imagine it to be honest
Cheers, Old Blue, for that!! ![]()
I read an article scan about Gillian and her mentioning the Inadequates somewhere.
Gotta hunt that down...

Fookin Ell!!! I used to have that interview on me wall when I was about 13. Along with a great interview with Peter Hook in Melody Maker, in which the interviewer asks; "Are you loaded?" and Hook replies; "Loaded? Culturally, yeah!" Class. think the interviewer might have been Mick Middles? ![]()
Wait, wasn't she in a band called Rotterdam or something to that effect? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Glad I was able to find it, Logan. ![]()
