Weird, to me the PIL one reminds me of Movement(blue) & the other reminds me of Sirens(orange) are these just seen as good colours for minimalist cover art? Or what?

Agreed, it is a poor excuse for an album cover.

But I will declare for Hard Fi here. I thought Hard To Beat, Cash Machine and Living for the Weekend were stormers.

What a load of laughable crap!

Hard Fi are only just starting out in the big bad biz, bless their little naive misguided souls. It's not lost on many how utterly dire their so-called music is though either. And yes, the fact that they can't even spell privileged on one of the covers is hilarious. Shows how dumbed down and poorly educated some of these oiks are doing the rounds these days.

Besides, being an art teacher, I can tell you a thing or two about piss poor opportunistic bandwagon jumping when it comes to record cover graphic design but I think I'll spare everybody the trouble for now, after all, I have two hungry dogs to feed right this moment.

In marketing, orange is the universal color associated with 'bargain price', 'discount', 'clearance'...nobody knows why, it just is.

Well maybe it's not as original as they'd like but you gotta love their Promo cd design. I actually bought a Promo of the first Album in well known not-quite-legal-promo-resale shop Record & Tape Exchange in London's Soho. So it gave me a chuckle to see the "not to be sold to Record and Tape Exchange" on there. I don't remember laughing at any of PIL's artwork. And a lot of people seem to be happy to pour scorn on the band anyway. Cash Machine was horrible but they still produced 3 singles from that album that most of us couldn't honestly say we could come up with. In a GOOD way! (before we got smart arse comments!) Tied Up Too Tight quite rightly caught the ear of some former Clash members.
