The Fairlight story.
Hannett was right and Trevor Horn went on to do what Hannet could have done ten times better. Maybe in some alternative universe he did.
Blimey....New Order, Joy Division, more New Order, ACR....
Bits of Steve Morris interviews...(JENN! Stalker alert!)

Fantastic
Sam, yer madcap funny, I tell ya. :p
I never realised that it was Steve who did the vocoder voice on 'Fine Time' and not Barney or Hooky. Mr Morris saying 'You've got Luuurve technique' without being embarrassed!
;)

That's a pitch shifter, there is however a vocoder doing the "acid" thing before the track cuts to just the bass drum (remember in my universe, 7" mixes do not exist).
Course I didn't hear what was said, so I dunno which he meant.
That "growly" bit on Fine Time is one of my fave NO lyrics ever.
Has anyone got the edition of OSM with the fine time video on it? funny as fuck.... "don't know any Anthony Wilson, Know a Tony wilson tho"
"New Order, best band in the world........thanks tony" *a wad of cash is handed to the speaker.
and so on.
I watched OSM week in and week out and barely knew WTF was going on, I just loved his style of bollox talking.
We do need a T-shirt with the "chas and dave" quote on the front. and on the back, the intro to The Happy One on OSM.
