Some people just can't cope with funerals mate. Others just do their own thing in remembrance.

It's in his book! He never attended Hannett's either. ![]()
(I've not read it meself, just paraphrasing what JG told me!)
I'll keep an eye out for some faces on Granada Reports tonight. Its bound to be on. Bet its a crackin Do right now. that's if the Mancs know how to party after a funeral.
former business partner Alan Erasmus
I would be very surprised if Bernard didnt go, if Erasmus could go and Tony attented Barneys wedding.
Very sad day :(

I second the motion.
If given a choice, I don't like to attend funerals.
If I have no choice, I normally stay at the back.
Indeed*!*
I had seriously considered mooching into town this afternoon and joining the inevitable, respect-paying crowd.
However, after hearing the family's appeal for a private service, I stayed home and commemorated 2pm personally.
Each to their own.
A sad, sad day.
i never cared for funerals either.told my mother/father i'm not going to theirs, i just don't want to have that memory of seeing my mom or dad lifeless in a coffin.i dont give a fuck about traditions.i said i'll always come to your graves and talk...
don't blame barney one bit whatever reason it may be i guess

probably he didn`t want to see Hooky ![]()
The shite don't need to be stirred any more.
And this is not really newsworthy.. family/friends attending funeral...ok. next!
I'll give it a few days and the go and pay my respects at the grave at Southern Cemetery (already immortalised by The Smiths). I also tried to respect the family's right to privacy, even though I was in town this afternoon. I hope they organise something more public soon.
R.I.P Tony ![]()
Side Note... Was there really any need for a tacky photo shop picture of Barney on a thread like this?
BAD FUCKING TASTE IN THE MOUTH ![]()

that is full of shite!! i dont like funerals too, but you know what, going to funerals is not about how to cope with someones death. its about saying goodbye to your friend and showing them some respect. So props to Hooky and Steve, as i recall wasnt barney at Ians funeral?? atleast thats what i saw in the 24 hpp. sorry barney, but i dont buy your story...
REST IN PEACE TONY WILSON.....
I dont buy it either, I guess if you didnt know them that well then no you dont really go. I bet he was there, it just wasnt reported thats all.
this is all really silly thing to argue about
my dad said he wasn't at the funeral because he was stuck on holiday and couldn't get back
so relax everyone

The thing I dislike about funerals is being around all the other people, all the facades and exaggerated or fake platitudes, the need for people to show superficial emotion. You should be kinda mad at a funeral, that you will never see that person again, or relieved that the person's suffering is over.

Exactly what I thought (every bugger seems to be on holiday at this time of year, apart from me
).
Well put, Jack! ![]()
