not sure if this has been asked b4. I heard a live version(Interzone live at the factory,Hulme) and theres is no way the Ian could've sang both lines. Was it hooky or barney that sang the back up??

It's Hooky I think. More than that, I don't know about the record, but I'm sure I've heard live versions where Hooky sings the "calls" and Ian sings the "responses".

been some debate whether Hooky sings on the record (though I think Ian does both there), but Hooky certainly did it live--perhaps most notably at the infamous 4 April 1980 Moonlight gig where the band went ahead with Interzone after Ian collapsed and was taken offstage.
Official confirmation from bass player, when I asked him this a few months back (forgot to mention it at the time).
Ian did both vocal parts on Unknown Pleasures. Hooky did the second part when they played it live.
