It turns out that The Vikings are not alone...
Some internet research as provided at least one other NEW ORDER close knit fan organisation who appear to be as fiercely loyal.
- The Shropshire New Order & Phil Cunningham Appreciation Society
AKA The Gay Meadow La De Dahs.
Based in Shrewsbury, little is known of the "La De dahs" apart from they only attend gigs New Order play in Shropshire.
They are huge Phil Cunningham fans as they consider him a local lad because of his ties with Oswastry, but also because of the way he plays guitar with a technique known as the "Shropshire wrist".
Monaco's "Music For Pleasure" has sold more copies in Shrewsbury than anywhere else in the UK.
Does anyone else know of any other fan groups...
Others I've heard bounded around at gigs are:
New Orders US Fan Base. AKA the New Order Hot Sox. Famous for the chants at gigs of "Go New Order... Go Go Go. We are the Hot sox at your Show show show."
The Macclesfield Cunnys. Macc's very own Phil fan base also known as "the cuns" or "cunnys"
Tameside DJ Peter Hook Round Turntable. Charity organsation that raffle Hooky's homemade marmalade to recoup some of the outstanding debt incurred by the Hacienda.
