Does the world need another N.O. cover?

Sure it does! My band, Amoeba Crunch, just released a free cover of "The Perfect Kiss." It's a year late for Community but check it out and let us know what you think. It is a limited edition: First come, first served.

I was on the Ceremony mailing list way back in the early 90's. This site seems to be the new place to be. It's good to see that interest in JD/NO is still solid.

Funny, I was just browsing the archives the other day looking to see if I could find my first post back in 94ish. Your name was in there pretty often around that time.

Of course, Nic LeBlanc runs this site now, and Nick King is around here somewhere, too.

Hey! Not bad, I quite liked the backing music, I will get used to not hearing Barney singing it.

Another thing we like about it is the video, a deadpan affair that must have stood out on vintage MTV like the cheap home movie it was.

ARF. Are you serious about that? DO you have any idea who directed the vieo and who was in charge of the lightning? Or am I just misunderstanding you?

I didn't mean that literally. I was just emphasizing how the video's premise was completely different from typical mid-80's MTV fare. Of course I know Jonathan Demme directed it, and that it had catalog number FAC 321 while the 12" had FAC 123, yada yada.

Nice looking website, but you could seriously do with toning the bullshit factor down several notches, and the cover's ghastly, sorry. Sound is very overblown in places, particularly on high bass parts and where more than two parts are being played simultaneously. And the bass playing is slightly out of time in several places. Did like the spoken third verse part though, added a nice new dimension. Your original stuff is miles better, at least the two tracks I've heard anyway. All Purpose Grind has a good groove to it (a bit "I Told You So" though), and Pleasy To Ease is just starting to grow when the sample cuts out, a pity.

When it's that solid, I don't have any problem with another N.O. cover. Well done.

There are MP3s of both available at the bottom of the "music" page. The CD and iTunes have the complete versions.

Hey there Ric! I'm pretty sure you sold me either the Round and Round or Fine Time CDs, or maybe both. I still have them despite a dozen years and as many moves.

I used to love getting that Ceremony digest every few days, and I kind of regret not getting that 3 disc MP3 compilation the list put together. But then I was a poor student at the time.
